Sitting prety?

Look it's not all doom and gloom. All things considered we are sitting pretty in the premiership at the moment and we are ready to kick on for a strong finish up the table as per usual, we all need to stay positive. Look at some of the teams below us who have invested far more than us but are looking like championship material. We are doing a solid team effort from the board to manager to players and to the fans - 'keep it going', and I still think we will finish above Liverpool :)

another one escaped from the nuthouse! I applaud the optimism, but your glasses are tinted more rosy than ron atkinson's!

Who knows tbh, this year's premier league results have been about as unpredictable as where a Li Tie shot on goal would end up, and I remember him shooting and hitting the corner flag once!!

Hopefully top half finish , cant see us catchin the ****e given them fixtures , as for those sayin we could go down , get a grip , despite the injuries we have enough about us to get the 3-4 points from those 8 games .

That's pretty ridiculous to be quite honest. Liverpool have been as unreliable as we have this season if not more so.

Unfortunately they are 5 points above us so I would say slightly less so. Anyway, it's in the rules somewhere that they must finish above us, hence my prediction, I believe in unwritten rules. Having said that, I believed in the 24 year rule before this season, I'll bet my bookmaker is laughing his head off!

I didn't say we would go down, i just said it was a possibility and wouldn't rule it out just yet. We are playing five teams threatened by relegation, and 3 teams who will be expected to beat us. With the injuries we've picked up and us not exactly lighting the world up this season, those five teams will think they can nick something off us if they play well. And if teams down the bottom end keep picking up points while we are dropping them, we can quite easily be dragged back into the mire.

Its not very likely but we can't afford to be complacent. I expect we'll get at least six points in those final 8 games, and that will hopefully see us clear.

46 points will be enough to stay up , i think our results of late have shown that complacency hasn set in , im not sure which 3 teams are expected to beat us , assuming youve included city in that , why ? , city haven a terrible record against us of late , and are on a run of 8 points from 7 games .

We will stay up .

City have a bad record against us but they'll still be expected to win to stay in the Champions league places.

Looking at our next 3 games compared to theirs, we have a great chance of catching them

We have villa(h), wolves(a), blackburn(h), i expect 7 points from that.

They have west brom(a), city(h), arsenal(a), optimistic me thinks 2 points, realistic prob 4 points.

That will leave us in and around the same points, and its then who can kick on and finish the strongest

Why oh why do we give so much creedence to the RS, we know we know we are better than them so we are worried are we worried about them, so why give them the sence that they are imiportant

Because they always finish above us. Unfortunately they're our benchmark. Get your head out of the sand and face reality. Finishing above them this season is our only goal left.

Its massively important to finish as high up the table as possible with 1mill per place in the league lets be honest we need as much as we can make badly.

Too right, thats why i dont understand people saying, it doesnt matter now, we cant qualify for europe or achieve anything, an extra place up the table and that extra £1 mill, could be the difference in our transfer dealings during the summer of getting that hidden jem from the championship or paying the loan fee of some foreign wonder kid. Yes, thats a dire situation for us to be in, but thats where we are the minute so every penny counts

That said, we had a fully fit squad for half the season, and languished at the bottom.
I think mate everyone got a bit carried away with the hype at seasons start we had fiddled around signing no one really of note while other teams had moved on signing players seemingly left right and centre.

We've hit a brick wall and without big money we wont move on sadly.

Exactly mate, every point is precious, although its important to give young players who reach a certain standard a chace in the team putting untried young players en mass into the team isnt the way to go, there has to be a baseline of quality for the first team - we're still playing for millions here. This is why i cant fathom all the outgoing loan signings last and this summer.
