I don't see any reason not to play him to be honest, it's not like he's been caught out of position time and time again. Playing two attacking full backs is something that needs to happen for us sooner rather than later, it's a large part of being a top team. You then have to trust your centre backs to be good enough to play 2v2 against the opposition's forwards and your central midfielders to be intelligent with their positioning. I think Heitinga/Jagielka and Arteta/Fellaini can do that.

This.

Seamus is going to play this season, with Neville covering LB/RB and DM. Hibbert might get a game but Seamus is going to be first choice. Heitinga 4th choice RB and Jags 5th choice.

Neville's actually done very well at left back. More than competent cover IMHO for Baines. (With Bidwell and Garbutt coming through over the next two years).

So its looking good lids.

Hope we come through the last preseasons injury free and this might possibly be the best prepared I can remember us being going into the season.

I'm going to be honest yesterday was the first time I've seen Coleman in this pre-season and he looked amazing. The idea that he goes foward way too much or more than Neville and Hibbert is completely wrong. The biggest difference between Coleman and them is that Coleman actually knows what to do with the ball when he gets it. It's not like he is going foward everytime we have possesion, he knows when to make a run, when to pass it and when to go back. Unlike Pip and Hibbo who look more tentative, and desperate to get rid of the ball.

On Defense he looked good, he probably was out of position like 2 times, which is good. Every fullback gets caught out of position or gets burn atleast 1 time every game.

IMO he should definitely start agaisnt B'burn he's good enough and he offers us way too much to have him on the bench.

Seamie scored his first ever goal for the Ireland u-21's this evening. Start him Saturday lads ;)

Coleman scored in Ireland u21s 5-0 thrashing of estonia in tallaght tonight

Did he? I read the SkySports match report earlier and according to them the scorers were:

Stokes 15, 30 (pen), McCarthy 62, Hourihane 86, Garvan 90
- skysports.com/football/match_report/0,19764,11065_3118712,00.html

I'm assuming you saw the game and may know better than Sky - I've seen them get things wrong before. Would be a great boost for Seamus' confidence going into the season if he did get his first international goal.
