You forgot to mention he still isn't good enough for Everton. :P
I've said all along we should sign Landon, this world cup has proven he has the ability to play in all but the very best club sides in europe.
Hopefully the usa can qualify along with england for the next round,am sure the usa will it's england that have me worried.

Would love to have him back, but how old is he ? I heard that he was about 30?

He turned 28 in march. He's been playing basicall all year round for better part of 2 years though, he needs a break. He's got some years left though.

Just going by the play in this tournament, I'd put Donovan among the six or seven best midfielders in the WC so far.

Anyone notice when Slovenia took a breakaway down the right wing, LD started from about forty yards behind the play and arrived in time to block the centering pass. He hasn't been very flashy because he spends a lot of time defending a bit more (a massive responsibility that I think he largely picked up from Everton).

he's 28, but I'm willing to bet he has a long and successful career (Maldini anyone?) - his body has held up very well (probably because it hasn't been broken down by playing in the top flight leagues his whole life)... He'll likely be on the U.S. squad for the next WC and will still be one of our best players....

not sure if that's a good thing tho haha
