Sir Landon Of Donovan

Would love to see him there. Just to far of a drive from Germany to get there. I seen him in Kaiserslaturen awhile back . He is a great guy

I love to watch LD play, BUT, I am not going to watch him play for the Galaxy and I never did. I will watch him play for the USMNT and that is all. AND BTW, I will continue to follow your team. I do not want to sound sappy, BUT, it is a lot lot better than the Galaxy with or without LD. Of course, I'd rather follow him at Everton, as with about 99% of the US posters on this board and others.

I hate to say this, but I am not going to spend my time watching a crap league, (and I am saying that partially because I live in Florida and have no ties to LA). Other than Beckham I have no clue what players even suit up for the Galaxy!

I have gotten to know your players, and I hope that LD comes back, but, I will follow your team. I now know them MUCH better than the Galaxy. I have started to care about your team, and I want them to do well. I have started to get to know your players like you do, maybe not so well, but much better than the Galaxy players. I used to to follow soccer, but now I will follow English football with Everton.

If I were to get an LD #9 Everton kit which one should it be?

From EFC site looks like it's between Home/Away/Limited Purple?? Florida so no long sleeves (sorry not to rub it in) b)

Thinking away but guessing a backlash may be on the way for not leanin' home blue out da gate??

Exactly how many LD jerseys would it take to reach $10 mil US?:D

Would be curious to get Evertonians reaction to this comment.

USA soccer fan who is not willing to watch MLS because the standard is beneath his tastes.

sounds more like he's not willing to give the MLS a chance

they're on TV quite a bit in the States (which makes sense) and it's not that hard to follow a team

yes having no team in Florida sucks, but so do the fans (I spent 23 years of my life in the state, worst fans in all of America in any sport)

It's good and bad...good that he's demanding more quality out of the league but bad in that the quality will never get there without supporters backing the clubs/league. You can't have it both ways...

I decided to support the Union last year because I respect what the supporters and club have done before they've even kicked a ball in competition, it had nothing to do with the quality of the league.

I don't find it beneath my tastes at all. Love watching footy and will stay up until 2AM watching some match from Colombia on FSC or GOL just because it's football and it's on.

I haven't gotten into the Fire - have been to many games and Toyota Park is a neat little park but it doesn't keep me intrigued.

It's been a long time since a thread got close to 100 pages.

USA football will find it hard to develop, just like Scotland have.
Each time they produce a star, the world of football will attempt to pillage.

The only way they will succeed is to get a large fan base, and winning the World Cup would be a good start.

When you consider the population of America, and the sporting talents within, I find it interesting that they can't come up with 22 or so players capable of winning the World Cup.

If they win the fans over, I'm sure they'll become a dominant force eventually.

My question is, how the hell does he know what the quality of the MLS is, if he doesn't watch it? Sounds to me like he's just reporting what he hears from other.

to each their own.

Please don't call our league crappy when you admit you know nothing about it or the players. If it was as bad as you think then Donovan wouldn't have fit into Everton as quickly as he did. If it is as bad as you think Beckham would have been the best player in the league but he couldn't even be the best player on the team.

I would like Donovan to come back here to LA but if he stays with Everton I will support him there too. If he does come back then there is more than enough room to get some more Galaxy fans from abroad. We already have many fans from abroad and I meet them all the time at the games. We don't play the quickest soccer but if you have someone to root for it is always fun.

We can put some exciting games on from time to time and if we are playing good you will see a lot of Donovan all over the field.

I think the most disappointing thing about this post is that the person doesn't realize that MLS contributes to players who go overseas... Jozy Altidore, Landon Donovan, and Clint Dempsey have all played in MLS before moving over the pond to play.

Players like Fredy Montero for the Sounders and Alex Nimo of Real Salt Lake are a few who come to mind who won't be in MLS much longer before they try their trade in the higher levels soon. So to say it's a 'crap' league is far from the truth.

And if you follow the USMNT, I don't see how you can't follow MLS now. That is where most of the young players come from.
