Sir Landon Of Donovan

I'm sure the fact that LA played poor would not have too much effect on Frank's decision.

If he has decided it is a career move and lifestyle he would like over in USA then I can see him going there, specially when he's likely to hardly feature at Chelsea this season in my opinion.

Beckham, Landon Donovan or Robbie Keane are the current Designated Players and one would have to move to enable Lampard to sign...

'We're working on the next [Designated Player], and we'll continue to work on the next DP. There are a half-dozen guys we have a good relationship with, and we'll see how that goes. But first we've got to have a spot, and at the moment we don't have a spot.'

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN AT ALL?!?

If Lampard is going they have to get rid of of either Beckham, Keane or Donovan... Keane wont go, nor will Beckham,... Donovan however.
LA have been looking for a new DP, Seedorf was training with them but decided to go to Botofogo where his misses lives...

So if Lampard goes to the Galaxy and they **** Donovan off, is he effectively a free transfer or will we still have to pay a fee?

Come on Wratho. He made a meal out of 1 tackle (the elbow that didn't happen). The rest were all legitimate fouls. Earned by a man willing his team into a win tonight. Which we didn't get. God, our defense is such a mess. Earlier in the season he didn't seem interested. But since he came back from National duty, he's been LA's best player. By a MILE. Should have had 3 assists tonight (thanks Robbie Keane) and was on a one man mission at the end of the game. He came back from national duty and said he was going to step up and be a leader in LA. He's done that.

You could also spin it as he's playing his last month in MLS. Sure looks like it.
Some were legit fouls, just the rolling on the floor stuff that I was luaghing at. Diving all over the shop may have been the wrong term. Rolling ont he floor like he got shot and was in La Liga is more of what I was going for.

He has played better. I just think LA and HIm need to part ways :)

its time to move on............... is he in?..... is he out?.... how much is he? .... a loan? ....... he is tired after a full season in the MLS? ...... we have been round the block loads with Donovan and my gut feeling is that he wont come here. we are sniffing big time at new transfers so hopefully someone younger will come in

I don't understand this. Who has been round the block? The rumors? Cause last I checked with our ITKers we were actively negotiating. Don't blame the man, blame our monetary situation.

And what young right wingers do you speak of that we are "sniffing around?" Cause so far there have been actual rumors about only 1 right winger. Landon Donovan.

Ah, that I agree with. He was singlehandedly trying to win the game in the last 20 minutes. Hence the theatrics. 20 fouls by the Union.

I'd say Moyes will play Naismith on the right wing.
On Donovan, He could have engineered a move if he really wanted to. Yea, Everton have very little money but he was hardly pushing for a move from MLS last year or the year before. If he comes on another loan, he runs the risk of loosing the goodwill of Evertonians

Naismith is not a right winger. If we play him on the right wing, we are again forcing a square peg into a round hole.

I doubt he'll cause any ill will by coming back here. As for him coming sooner, he did actually want to come in 2010. And was prevented from doing so. He had a contract, let's all remember that. Now that he has won an MLS Cup and is in his final year, he can engineer a move. And it looks for all intense and purposes he is doing exactly that. Frank Lampard MUST take a DP spot.

LCAB gave us details on this weeks ago. Now that the clues are falling into place why are people getting all weird about it?

round the block means we have experienced him and years ago too. it sounds like donovan is the only fish in the sea by your reckoning, are you seriously pinning our hopes on a 30yr old. i would hope to get a younger player in and i presume with the RM position being a problem it would be in that area. the donovan `hes signed, no he hasnt` rumours have been going on for years and its time to forget it imo.

I want to win NOW. I never said LD was the only fish in the sea. There are plenty of others. We have a grand total of 0 rumors for other right midfielders.

Do I want a guy who is a proven fit in our right midfield, a guy who supplied our offense for two months, a guy who combines well with the rest of the team.

Hell yes I do. Don't care that he's 30. He's fit, looks great.

So let's talk about this young midfielder. You have to hope he works, you have to scout him and you have to be able to meet his wage demands.

What rumors are you talking about? The ones that said he was going to come on loan and HE DID? And now the rumors that he's coming back here? Why should we "forget it?" when they appear to be true? (I hope).

Without knowing the full details why are you turning this down?
