Sir Landon Of Donovan

I watched the game and he and Beckham were clearly playing very defensive to provide cover for the full backs (I am assuming LA were concerned about the Seattle wingers pace?) anyways they played really well in that regard. Landon made one jet heeled 70 yard run in particular in the second half that immediately springs to mind but had no support, he outran them on a number of other occasions to. He looked a little tired but not as tired as he did a few weeks back, imo. 6 weeks or so break and he'll be sound :)

Buddle's goal was a beauty too.

What was hilarious about that was that it was 1 v FOUR! He beat almost all 4 defenders. I wish he had taken a shot at the end just because...

And he had a screamer of a shot that Keller saved as well.

He's playing like it's his last few games in MLS.

And on the Garber quote: well, well Mr. Garber, how the tune has changed...

;)

EDIT: Oh wait, I just found this quote from Don (from Shin Guardian 11/1):

“Landon is committed to our league and is a great player for the sport in this country. I can’t comment as to whether or not . . . and I don’t think anybody is looking at him as far as I know, but I hope he is in our league for the rest of his career.”

Seriously - is he kidding about the "don't think anybody is looking at him"? Does he live under a soccer news rock? Sheesh. That's what I'd expect he'd say, but ostrich move anyone?

Oh , aye . He's Mr. Anonymous , alright .

Esp' on the Blue Half of Merseyside .

So, the Galaxy/Sounders match this Sunday could in fact be his last game in the MLS (if they lose)? Perhaps I should make a special effort to attend. How sure are the sources that he will get a permanent deal? I assume the loan in January is basically a done deal at this point.

Loan deal for sure..... LCAB says so, therefore will happen....... Perm Deal probably. I don't think this is 100% for sure from trying to read back what LCAB has said. I think it is a probably going to happen once LD gets here and starts playing well.

I would head down , as it should be a good game on the basis that the Sounders have to push for the goal. LA should win so there will be more games.

From the other thread, now:

Manchester City
Fulham
Aston Villa
Newcastle United
Monterrey
Club America
Liverpool

Why is there this 3.2k thread about a guy who doesn't play for us? I understand if we were obsessing about a top-class player, but guys, he's really nothing special at the PL level.
