big fan of the glenfiddich - the 12 is fantastic stuff and the 18 is out of this world (unfortunately its 40 odd quid a bottle)

goes well in a summer cocktail that - double one of them, double disaronno, half fill the glass with ginger beer and top off with lemonade and a splash of lime

Yeah my missus had put the empty bottle in the recycling box by the time I'd got up.

I can't help but love a glass of my Favourite Oban Distiller's Edition. Even a few sips on a cold winter's night down here just does the trick.

finished the Bushmills single malt i got from me other half's mar...was smooth but a bit bland, much like Glenfiddich.

Looking for a Laphroaig alternative: that musty peaty strong taste that makes you go "aaaaah" after a good sip.

What's your tip? Would also consider japanese if there's an affordable one that fits the description.

Depends how much you want to spend. Lagavulin is a nice smokey one. Caol Ila is a bit tamer and similar to Talisker but both are a nice drink. If you're pure loaded get a bottle of Octomore from Bruichladdich.
