For the price it's a no.

He would bring something different to the team but even at 40 million he's not worth it and i've always liked him even back to his Reading days when they were chasing promotion.

The issue with him is he's 50 million for a player whose biggest strength is set pieces (albeit very good set pieces), he creates less per game from open play than Barkley and even Kev and if he's pushed out on the left it takes away from his strengths even further.

i still don't get this fasination with breaking things down from set plays to open play, the game isn't played like that. The game incorporates both. FIFA released those stats the other day to say that only 60 mins of the 90 is the ball actually in play. That's a 3rd of "open play" gone right there in most cases. If we have a team who were all creative from open play, teams would just come to constantly hack us and stop play as much as possible and then we'd be stuck in an arrogant arsene wenger stance refusing to change tactics to accommodate. Teams will be less inclined to kick us all over the shop if they're going to get punished from set plays which in itself leads to more opportunities from open play itself.

If Sigurdsson was a "top, top player", to use the idiotic term that every football pundit uses. Then it would be more than just.us and liecester in for him. But i think Koeman is building a team, and Sigurdsson fits the bill. He might not be worth the money to other teams, but he certainly is for Swansea and maybe for us and what were building

Pretty much sums it up

Such a good buy this, forget the fee, who cares if he is worth that or not, its all about how good he is and how much he can bring to the side, great buy if we can get it over the line
