Wait, you think Silva who has just been sacked by Watford (who are below us) for not winning enough points would get more points than Allardyce for the rest of the season?

Based on what exactly?

I rate him as a boss. He has win ratios, albeit in different leagues, which are 50% better than Allardyce has ever got in 25 years. He's clearly tanked it at Watford. He wants to be here. He picks good players to recruit. He has a style. He plays the right way. He would easily over achieve Allardyce. Anyone who disagrees is entitled to their opinion but your part of the reason the club felt they could get away with such a disgusting, negative, unambitious appointment.

We should have stuck with Unsworth and given him the job until the end of the season. Part of his problem was lacking authority because no one knew whether he was going to be here game to game. I don’t think we’d have been worse points wise and we’d have had time to get the right manager in for the summer. Allardyce has been really poor and is looking a worse decision as the weeks roll on. Tuchel or Fonseca for me as things stand.

I like Unsworth and hoped he’d do well here
I reckon we would have been relegated with him in charge

Gracia would have been a good appointment for us. Did well with an utterly woeful malaga squad.
Tim afternoon drinking obviously doesn’t suit you
Watford replace one no mark manager with another one and lads think we should have had him as our manager.
I’ll vault you when Watford flirt with relegation
It’s bad enough we get Sunderland’s and Crystal Palace’s ex manager without going for Watford’s current manager.
And lads on here say our board has no ambition
I hate Rafael but at least I can see why lads want him
He’s managed big clubs and he has won stuff , I’d rather have Rafael than Silva or Gracia and that takes a lot of bile for me to say that

Well if that's the case then you are the reason why are struggling right now as you are one of those who wont get behind the current manager.

I don't actually believe that but its as silly as your comment...

Silva did OK in a league with only a few decent sides. His picking good players to recruit thing doesn't really matter as that wont be his role and his style seems to be lose by loads of goals.

There is no "right way" to play in football.

All I am seeing is an incredibly flaky manager in Silva who seems to have his head turned every couple of months. Allegedly the players stopped playing for him at Watford too. Do we never learn?

Allardyce is a stopgap appointment until the right man comes along. He has been brought in to trim the fat and provide a steady base to push on from in the future. I don't get why people cant see that.

I'm never going to accept Allardyce nor am I going to be won round by board apologists.

I get behind the team but I won't applaud a man who I find incompetent and beyond the pale.

I don't drink mate. I feel like I'm the only sober man on here sometimes with all the ridiculous worship of a incompetent crook.

Until we approached him his record with poor teams was fantastic in the Premier league so he ticks that box.

But look at his record on Wikipedia. He's not just a flavour of the month. His record before coming to the premiership is amazing. He's obviously a very ambitious man. The only doubt over him is if he would leave us but if that becomes a problem then it will mean he will have done well.
Bed the drink has addled your brain

Oh I detest FSA and want him gone but I don’t want some no mark flavour of the month manager
I want the board to show ambition be decisive and get the best manager availabile and back him
Jesus I’d have FSW before Silva or Gracia

Who on Earth is worshipping Allardyce on here FFS?

Seriously, who?

Literally every single Everton supporter I know at best tolerates him and at worst hates him

No one, I repeat, NO ONE, is worshipping Sam F'ing Allardyce

Get a grip mate. Kin Hell like

We could take on Silva and he might do well but what happens when another suitor comes a-wooing? Will his head be turned again?
Stick with Sam for now. Nobody is going to woo him.

Look at his record before coming to the premiership. If you did even a little research you wouldn't be saying that.
Before the premiership is exactly right and he’s done nothing in the Premiership
Took Hull down and wouldn’t stay to try and get them back up
Then he gets the Watford job and starts off well
We lift our skirts above our ankles he gets distracted and Watford Win one in 10 and he gets sacked
So his record is got one team relegated and then got sacked 23 games into his new job.

I believe he would

Imagine that for a second

We start the season with Silva well and then ten games in he decides he wants out as Arsenal finally sack Wenger, or a new money club like Wolves suddenly offer him a sickening amount of money to jump

Either he leaves and we're stuck scrambling for a new manager or we make him stay and he promptly downs tools so that we sack him

It'd perhaps be worth it if he was some sort of excellent manager, but he isn't

He's just another Martinez styled manager who stubbornly thinks that he doesn't have to adapt to the English game and throws away big leads with reckless abandon. No thanks, I lived through three years of Martinez. That was plenty
