should they cancel the lap of honour?

Personally I would cancel the lap of honour tomorrow they don't deserve it. If anything crowd should stay silent and players management should applause us.
Ill be straight off after final whistle what do you say?
They didn’t cancel the Dixie awards so they won’t cancel this. Think of it not of the fans clapping them but them clapping us for all the support.

..I imagine young Everton fans like these things, for that reason alone I would say it should go ahead. At the end of the season it looks like we won’t be far off where we were last time which is incredible give how bad we were at Southampton away.

It is amazing to be fair as we have been so poor for the most part.
What has changed since then is we have stopped shipping goals against poor sides.
It has made all the difference but sadly highlights what a poor standard the Prem really is as a whole division.

The whole notion of this is silly anyway.

Players and the club can “thank” fans and deliver good football, performances, and results, to fair expectations.

That’s the only “thanks” I need. There is nothing to be proud about, nor ashamed either, in an 8th place finish.

Let them off down the tunnel and put this home season to bed.

Personally I’ll be gone as soon as the final whistle blows (if not before)! The thought of being stood there happy clapping Allardyce and giving him, Kenwright and Moshiri any encouragement that he should be in charge of Everton beyond 5pm next Sunday is appalling!
If this forum and at least one other, is anything like representative of the Goodison crowd then hopefully there’ll be about 2,000 happy clappers left in there for any lap of appreciation!

Someone clarify something for me...

Isn't the 'lap of honor' actually more like a 'lap of appreciation' were the staff and players show their appreciation to the fans who came to Goodison all season?

If that's the case... wouldn't the fans standing there in relative silence be far more of a damning message to send? Not like that would ever happen..

The lap of honour is for teams who actually win something. A lap of appreciation is for the small clubs who try to claim it is to thank fans because they’ve got nothing else to give.

Cancel? The shouldn't consider it in the first place. But then I can remember the players celebrating as though they'd won the cup after the Wimbledon game rather than just walking off with their heads bowed in shame as they should have done after the way they performed that season.

I’ll be leaving at the final whistle, but that’s my way of showing I’m not happy.

The only way I want players to appreciate my support is by giving 100% every game, but each to their own.

I think everyone who wants to voice their disapproval to the possibility that Sam Allardyce will be kept on as manager, should stay and make their voices heard on the lap of appreciation.
I was going to do this but now i think the best thing will be to walk out of the ground en masse at the end of the 90 minutes. I'm hoping, because its a 5.30pm kick off that everyone's had a few beers, and we can get some Allardyce out chants going on during the game :pint2:
