Should Liverpool just be awarded the title if it’s voided?

Should we award them the RS the super dooper supreme deputy title of England (solar system)?

  • Yes mate pass me the glue

  • No mate I actually understand how winning a league works

  • Cheese off toast but rather a side dip of cheese for your toast to be dipped in

There are so many problems with voiding the season three quarters of the way through it and giving the current leaders the title. It would make the whole competition a corrupt fraudulent laughing stock. The current leaders have not earned it or won it until all 38 games have been played, end of. They could lose every one of their remaining games no matter how unlikely it is. It is still possible and are they the only team that benefits from it, what about the rest of the clubs who would reside in completely different positions in the league after the 38th game has been played.

Look at us for example, we are in a run of very tough games and not picking up any points, however that tough run was almost over and then we had a much more favourable run of fixtures till the end of the season where we could have potentially picked up a lot of points and earned millions more pounds in prize money and possibly even Europe qualification. The merits and rewards have to come from the entire season or it is unbalanced, unfair, corrupt and fraudulent.

The only way forward is to either finish the season properly or cancel it altogether with no winners or losers and start again fresh next season.

All scenarios are difficult and would need much discussion but voided with the current leaders crowned should be a complete non starter for anyone who loves and respects football.

If they’re awarded it then Tiger Roll should be awarded the National because it was favourite.

It’s simply not logical. They’ve not mathematically won anything.

Well apparently they’re not getting it if the league is voided. Glorious.
Every cloud etc....

The medical people will dictate government policy, I think that's for the best. However the government didn't ban Football, they haven't banned public gatherings or locked anything down, (as yet). If the Premier League had decided to finish the season behind closed doors, which fortunately they didn't, the government hadn't given any instruction on that, just advice. It would have been extraordinarily ill-advised, but they could have done so.

I suppose my point is, the Football people will decide the outcome of this aspect, not the government or the medical people. Even if the government and healthcare professionals advise that the country goes into lockdown for 3 months, which is unlikely but possible, the Premier League and UEFA etc will still have decisions to make about what route they take when that period ends.

They will make those decisions based on their priorities when the country eventually comes out of all this. On the other side they will want their competition still in tact, their reputation and integrity with their business partners, professionals and fans still in tact (possibly in that order) and they'll still want to maximise their remaining revenue opportunities.

Will you still go and applaud at the guard of honour Kieran ?

If they stick me in the starting line up, I'd have to mate.

I hope the clubs resources aren't so stricken by COVID that they are forced to turn to the likes of me, mind.
