Should Liverpool just be awarded the title if it’s voided?

Should we award them the RS the super dooper supreme deputy title of England (solar system)?

  • Yes mate pass me the glue

  • No mate I actually understand how winning a league works

  • Cheese off toast but rather a side dip of cheese for your toast to be dipped in

They aren't mathematically champions, there would have been the (albeit VERY) remote chance that they could have lost all their remaining games.

Any other team and this wouldn't even be a conversation, except for the fact they haven't won it in 30 years and now all their mates in the media are having kittens at the potential first league win in a generation is being taken away for something they can't control.

RIGHT INTO MY VEINS! lol

its surely as simple as deciding whether the season ends now and places are recognised (all places) or it’s voided. If it was close at the top no one would dream of ending the season now because it’s completely unfair on teams who have harsher fixture lists etc. Everyone would be in favour of voiding. The principle is exactly the same except people are complicating it because the media’s favourite team are a long way ahead. It doesn’t matter. They could have won it weeks ago, it wouldn’t matter. It wouldn’t matter if they were 1 point ahead. The powers that be either decide the season ends now for all teams where they are or it’s null and void. If it ends now then congrats to Liverpool for being champions but by the way Villa are down and United aren’t top 4,be ready for the law suits. If it’s voided then everything is voided. There can’t be a convenient mid ground where the season is voided for everyone apart from Liverpool who just get given a title.

Exactly, it has to be all or nothing.
You crown them, then the championship teams start asking why they aren't promoted (with all the riches that come with the PL)
Then you either have to relegate some teams to accommodate or the ludicrous 22 team system some have suggested (as if the leagues aren't already going to be stretched at the point they return) comes in, despite the fact we don't even know when the leagues are even going to restart.

The kopites will cry about this for generations, mark my words.

If there was as much media attention on forcing premier league clubs to let some wealth flow down the pyramid to lower league clubs In trouble as there was on trying to get Liverpool awarded the title then there wouldn’t be a single club with any financial worries at all. As it is there’s barely a journalist bothered if numerous clubs go to the wall as long as their beloved red men get number 19 and the adulation they feel they constantly deserve at all times.

Seriously the amount of cash that is flowing around just the premier league, it could secure the jobs of everyone in the football pyramid easily, and could probably give millions to the emergency services, food banks, NHS. Instead they’ll all just focus on protecting their revenues and lining up 200 million pounds bids for Mbappe or Neymar in the summer. The greed of football knows no limits now and is sickening. This whole thing has shown the entire sport up for just how far away it’s gone from the working class now. A cash cow for bookmakers, players, agents, and owners, with zero concern for fans or for the community teams play in. Oh but a few teams have some charity arms that probably get less a year in funding than their worst player gets paid.

If they are not mathematically Champions it is beyond my comprehension they could be awarded anything. So many probables as previous seasons have shown.
Hence the Establishment clamour to somehow play at least enough games to get them the required points.
The logical and easiest way is to void any competitions not completed. It is also the safest.
I am bemused by the dithering of those in charge. As if they think this virus is not going to be around in June,!

Oh they know, alright.

It’s just a case of postponing the inevitable until it becomes impossible to put it off any longer, which gives them valuable breathing space before the on-set of the predictable whinging and whining from the most indignant set of supporters in footballing history.

Will the bookies refund any bets on City winning the league if the league is confirmed void?

Some of these pundits are in cloud cuckoo land.... John Barnes now saying the season has to be finished at all costs even if it takes a year to get it done. The common sense thing to do is to just void the season if all games can’t be completed by June 30th. Harsh on some I agree but any other option would be too complicated to work out.
Another thing.... why are they banging on about playing behind closed doors ? We are being encouraged to have minimal contact with other people to try and halt the spread, if I was a pro footballer right now I would refuse to play any game be it in a crowded stadium or behind closed doors. It’s mind boggling how some people totally disregard the known risks.

The FA will do their level best to ensure Liverpool FC, play just two more games to ensure it is mathematically impossible for them not to win it. Whoever plays against them in them two games, I can guarantee they, won't win a throw in. lol
