I‘d like to see how he does til at least the end of January. It was obvious for anyone that the players worked harder against Chelsea than they did all season long. He seems well respected by them too. What’s to be lost? The season went down the drain already. We‘re not gonna qualify for Europe, unless we put together a highly unlikely Cup run. But against Leicester and the RS we‘re probably gonna get knocked out anyway, no matter who is on the sidelines. It’s really important to get the next manager appointment right for a change. Why rush the decision?

What's to be lost? One of our heros falling on the sword we've built for him. Not sure I could stomach watching Big Dunc fail. Some dreams are just worth dreaming.

I loved Unsy, but since he was manager 2nd time out I have nothing but serious contempt for him.

I doubt it will happen with Duncan, cos my love runs much deeper, but I really dont want to hate him.

The problem with this is, say we beat Leicester, then he will be hailed as the best manager in the world, nowt wrong with that, but if we suffer defeat versus Leicester, well we all know how that dance goes.
I think if he gets results in the next two matches, he can have it until the end of the season. Unless things got tits up, we can then assess it in the summer. If Brands can get him a couple of decent signings in January. Maybe we can have a real go the cups? But no decision should be made before May.

Soured things with Unsy alright. Not really his fault but that's what he gets for trying. It sullies the heart.

I love Duncan to bits and will never forget what he did for our team on Saturday. However, I have always said that appointing backroom staff as a successor has historically never worked.
Firstly, it’s a cheap/sentimental option. Recent “backroom” appointments such as Shakespeare,(at Leicester) Phelan (at Hull), Unsworth with us are stark reminders to how they fail.
This is a real opportunity for us to send the football world a message as to how we want to progress and appoint a forward thinking manager.

So what is our decision? Nice escape from Old Trafford, (should have won though, poor from Holgate and Pickford to let that ball in)

I say yes IF Ancelotti is not coming.

Be tempted to bring Moyes in with Dunc as his assistant, purely because I’d hate for it to turn sour and for the big man to get the boot. Let Moyes be the sacrificial lamb to the end of the season, but with Dunc still basically running it.

If we can get a very good manager in though, we should.

David Moyes will not accept 5 month contract though
