Shocking Refs

lets look at the facts - Everton have had many more tough\harsh ( call it what you like) decisions going against them than going for them - ihaters has proven that beyond any reasonable doubt - with hard evidence in abundance -
deathbyrope please prove to us in equal numbers where Everton was the benefector of harsh\tough decisions against their oponents - ihaters has produced the evidence to back up his case against the officials - the onus is now on you mate to prove him wrong - just pleading not guilty on behalf of the refs will unfortunately not do -
a bad ref makes mistakes randomly and then according to the law of averages mistakes should even out over the season - well it is clear that mistakes against Everton does not even out - even Phill Neville says that should it even out Everton is owed 5 or 6 penalties
go to any Everton Forum and you will find a similar thread - the fans are getting restless with reason
the standard of referreeing in the PL leaves much to be desired (not only against Everton) - and the stubborn refusal to use the available technology just makes the whole situation less transparant and more suspicious

Two legitimate goals against Newcastle ruled out.

Goal conceded against Wigan that was offside.

Pienaar sent off without fouling the man against QPR.

Free kick against Norwich.

Penalty against Man City.

That's probably forgetting a few as well. The refs this year have been dire for us. The Kopites have a bad ref against Man Utd and it's a conspiracy. We could be 10 points or more better off if it weren't for poor refs.

Good decision for the penalty, its about time refs started clamping down on pulls in the area.

No argument there, but they need to consistent. I refer again to an incident in the derby that was overlooked, even here.
On the hour mark Skrtel grabbed Jelavic's left arm in one hand and the back of his shirt with the other. This started about 2 yards inside the box and continued to the edge of the 6 yard area and Jela' just failed to get to Coleman's pass into the goalmouth. Of all the controversial incidents in the match that ranked with the worst, imo, and yet it's been ignored.
If any of you still have the vid', look it up.

Wouldn't say the difference in points is quite that much as obviously it's not as simple as saying a decision going our way would automatically mean we won the game. But it's a ridiculous list of fairly clear decisions going against us and we're not halfway through the season. The Pienaar one last week I thought was a penalty and salt's been rubbed into the wounds watching the Wigan game, as they've had a penalty given against them for the man bundling Cisse over in the box. Where's the consistency?

EVERY TEAM GETS BAD DECISIONS.

We see more of Everton so obviously ours are in our mind.

But seriously all teams get bad decisions. It's not just us.

We've had loads this season yes. But so have others.

not only a penalty against Wigan - but also a red card - immagine what the effect on our game against Arsenal would have been if Arteta got a red card as well on top of a penalty for us
and every time we see Everton play we also see another side playing against them - but those sides do not get the same load of bad decisions against them - the playing field for Everton just appears to be uphill no matter who they play against -
if the other teams get the same number of bad decisions as Everton against them they certainly do not get them against Everton - which seems very odd

i have no probs with pienaar's red. it did look like a foul in real time, it was just cheating by boswinga and the fault is within the rules that you cannot overturn a red if it's two yellows.

The main problem ref's have is that there are no set rules for a lot of circumstances, we cry out for consistancy but you will always gets one petty ref who sees every bit of contact as a foul and another who will only call ones he feel our massive obstruction. sadly it's something we as football fans have to put up with, it's a totally different sport as opposed to cricket or tennis as examples

Not outweighed with decisions we should have had.

I don't think it's overly negative or "moaning" to say we've been treated disproportionately harshly by referees this year, and it won't even itself out. I'd emphasise again though, refereeing decisions aren't the key reason we aren't doing better - that's down to our crap finishing and sloppy defending.

Fair comment.

Makes perfect sense that. I agree.

Who's had it worse then mate?

I didnt say anyone had mate did I?

Odds are we are getting the brunt of things at the moment. But it's not just us getting the bad decisions is it?!

Refereeing has been terrible this season, in fact I'm struggling to think of a Premier League match I've watched where the ref has had a good game and got everything spot on.

Spot on. While Fellaini was fouling Dzeko, at the exact same time 3 Citeh players were fouling our defenders, and every corner in every game could lead to a penalty.....in fact should lead to a penalty if Fellaini/Dzeko is the benchmark.

Consistency and refs.....a nice theory that in practice falls down as easily as Suarez.

Consistency?

The day every single ref is a replica of each other so therefor sees every incident in exactly the same way, and has 10 pairs of eyes so can see every single thing that goes on on a football pitch is the day you get "consistency".

Its just a word people throw out without actually thinking about what it means in this context.

If on Sunday Dawson pulls back Fellaini in the 6 yard box but the ref or linesman doesn't see it because they're watching if the ball goes out of play or if theres a foul being comitted on the edge and we don't get a penalty its tough **** pure and simple.

Not **** reffing, not inconsistency but the result of a human being trying to do a near impossible job.
