Sharpy’s return

It's not about a thick as mince ex footballer, it's about a member of the board that runs our club continuing the lie of a serious allegation that did not occur to insult the fanbase on a national level all for self preservation.
He was a token member of the board, trotting out whatever he was told so he kept his free tickets. You can’t seriously think he played any meaningful role?

What happened was disgraceful, but I don’t know why anyone thinks he’d somehow be better than that? I couldn’t care less. He’s history.

Being on the board isn't a token role even if it was given to him as a token, that's on the people who he blindly defended and then on him for tarnishing his reputation. Surprised anyone can find any sort of defence for the way he's acted over this to be honest.

I’m not defending him, I just don’t think he’s worth getting that worked up over, given the fact that he’s wrecked his own reputation anyway.

And it was a token role - he was appointed to appease the fans, not rebuild our finances or strike new sponsorship deals. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t have the nous to realise the damage he was doing to himself.

This. Absolutely. Nails. It.

A playing career those who watched will be grateful for. To everyone afterwards he looks disloyal. BK wasn't anything to do with Everton when Sharp was successful, allowed himself to be easily misled by a poor Chairman and Owner

After that goal at the pit he can do what the hell he wants.

People need to get over whatever he has done recently. I don't care.

Legend status fully intact for me.

I won’t begrudge him attending matches, and he was a phenomenal player for the club.

However, he’ll always be an utter bellend of a man in my eyes.

The way he used to speak to fans on live radio, who wanted change from kenwright’s bullshit, was an utter disgrace.

Seeing him regularly huffing and puffing at fans wanting a picture or autograph was horrible to see, especially when other players had all the time in the world for fans.

He was a great player for Everton but allowed himself to be used by Kenwright.

He also got a pay-off when the Board resigned which sticks in the craw.

He can come and watch Everton games as much as he wants IMHO but he peed on his own chips with his off-field support for a self serving regime led by a charlatan.

if you sup with the devil make sure you use a long spoon.

I don't begrudge him attending the games, I'm pleased he feels he can attend again (not that I ever think there was any credible threat to him that would've prevented him going).

However, he shouldn't be a representative of the club any longer, he demonstrated contempt for the fanbase and damaged the reputation of the club during his time on the board. He was there as a conduit between a distant detached ownership and increasingly anxious fans, who used his position to dismiss fan concern and caluminate those criticising the board.
- his comments since have reinforced that.
