Seventh Place

Got to sustain it.

If the club can finish 6th/7th consistently then the next step is breaking into top 4.

Will only work if we go far in the competition to attract players or if the gap to the top 6 is much closer than what it is now.

If we keep sustaining europa league but go out the competition early it won’t help us attract much better players. Also if the gap to top 6 is more than 10 points every year then we also won’t.

Might not be this season there are only 3 of the top 6 left in it, and two of those are playing each other so quarter finals will have 2 of the top 6, only way 7th get in is if those 2 meet in the final.

Why do they care about semi it is meaningless if you can’t win it.

Going far in the competition has nothing to do with attracting players. Getting into the competition and the perspective of being at a top tiar PL club will have effect.

If this club can have the best of the rest tag back and prove to be the best club outside top 6 it will definitely help attracting better players.

There's nothing about the Europa league that would make it hard to sustain a finish from one year to the next. We finished 8th last year after finishing 7th. Had nothing to do with Europa. Southampton had no problem finishing a spot better under Koeman being in the Europa. West Ham qualified via fair play standards and finished much higher the next year. Hull City went down after qualifying the year before under fair play, but they went from 37 to 35 points. Big Deal. Swans went from 46 points to 42 points.

If there's a big impact, I'm not seeing it.

I was wondering if a seventh place finish would be good enough to make Europa this year? It seems very feasible we could finish in this spot if we can play up to par going forward. I know I am being optimistic, but still.
Not too bothered. We have to shift a lot of rubbish in the summer to get better players in the squad. Once that is done then Europe will be worthwhile.

Sadly it has been proved to be difficult to shift deadwood. The dross being left over by Martinez are still at the club let alone those signed by Walsh and Koeman.

This idea that Europe would be such a problem is kind of a joke to me. Why? A few more games to deal with? Getting into camp earlier?

We need to turn over quite a bit of this roster, good luck attracting anyone without European soccer.

Please to not use the term roster when talking about Everton FC’s first team squad lol

Do we want it?

We've got a paper thin squad as it is.

Lets have another season, and come back stronger and push for europe.

It's paper thin in some places, but fine in others - spend another 75M in the off season on top of whatever we can recoup in sales - we should have some depth there. It's not like we are playing world beaters in those early qualifiers anyways and it'll give some players some much needed game time.

Team sheet? Help a brother out, man. Can I still use outside back to refer to both right and left backs? Kinda like when others say wingers?
