Set pieces with Baines out?

Looks like Baines will be out for a few weeks at least.

Who do we think will take over his set pieces?

Lukaku, Mirallas and Deulofeu all look like they could take dangerous free kicks but i'm not so sure about penalties.

I would have said Lukaku but him missing his for Chelsea before he left would effect his confidence in taking penalties again, which isn't ideal.

Barkley was taking corners for England the other night so maybe he's another option for the future.

Just get Romelu to toey it.

To be honest i think corners from Baines havent been this great this season anyway, how many went out and came back in against Spurs ? we were fantastic in that second half at the weekend and even thou having one of your best players out aint great im not as worried

Mirallas takes some of the corners when Baines is playing anyway, so he will probably take the corners.

That's because we are weird. Every corner should be an in swinger, just like every freekick should be.

Where we saw an immediate improvement was for the third goal on Saturday.

Baines's outswinging corners from the left have been dreadful this season.

Several of them have actually curled over the bye-line and a goal kick awarded to the opposition.

Most the others have dropped handily for the goalie, on the edge of the six tard line.

That corner on Saturday dropped far enough out for Lukaku to rise and get a lot of power on it without the goalie anywhere near him.

Was that the first goal we have scored from a corner this season?

I think it was.
