Seriously, how can we avoid deflections?

I am gonna have nightmares full of deflections tonight, nailed on!

How many have there been this season, I can't even count. In the derby, against utd, 2 today is what i recall now.

I know it may sound a silly thing to discuss but really what do we have to do??

Should we lie on the floor with our bodies on the line to block it so that the ball instead of deflecting of the legs stop there and then?

Or should Howard not move so early?

Two godamn focking deflection deprived us of moving into the top half where apart from the [Poor language removed] everyone would agree that we deserved a win like never before.

Its extraordinary really, how am I gonna learn to live with it is something i don't know. Lucky, Lucky Arsenal and the way they celebrate after such a shitty goal make me sick. Mascherano after his 70 degree deflected goal acted as if he scored a WC winner(n)(n)

One of those things unfortunately! Least we're getting bodies in the way and for every deflection that results in goal there'll be numerous that prevent goals too

They should stick their bloody foot behind the ball.

I think neviile made two critical blocks and that's how they should be done. Remember carsley and neville at anfield in 2007, 0-0 draw and how many blocks they made that day. Thats a classic example, put your entire body behind the ball.

Can't blame the lads ofcourse but i was just thinking that in the first deflection today i think it was osman. he just stood when the shot came with his feet apart and that gives a chance of a deflection. Now if he anticipates the shot and concentrates on the ball he could have cleared it and lied down. Surely penalty isn't gonna be awarded with the shot coming towards you hitting the hands, and you on the floor.

the second goal was bound to take a deflection. neill treid but with his feet in the air desperatelty it has a high chance of a deflection. How i wish Jags was there to tackle that away before Diaby played it to rosicky

Obviously something that can be sorted on the training ground. Roundy needs to get on with developing these forcefields that can pre-select the angle of deflection.

What is this post all about! they are trying to block the ball and these things happen in football. Come on this isn't worth talking about.

Unfortunate but part of the game.

I guess the only thing you might work on is closing your mark down faster but then we'll be starting a thread on:

"Players overcommitting and getting beat. How can we avoid that?"
