Anyone else feel a bit wistful looking at the team we were able to put out back then? Obviously we're still holding our own in the league, but our team now doesn't seem as good as it did back then. Has the PL got worse or are we looking through rose tinted glasses?

Is Mirallas much better than Arteta do you think? Not sure Gibson is a million miles better than Castillo. With Yak and Saha up front, we had better striking options, and I reckon our defence was better.

I think Pienaar covered Arteta whilst out injured very well, in fact when Arteta came back he reeked the place out and Pienaar was moved aside in the team, losing a lot of his responsibility and more importantly shoved on the wrong side for his esp relationship with Baines. So yeah, Pienaar instead of Arteta, swapping about with Kev and linking with Baines.
Castillo hardly got a look in really, so yeah Gibson has done more for us.

as for up front, I dont rate Vic over anyone & would have Jelavic in the team in front of him EVERY time, his lack of form being down to being dropped for that waste of space and then when he gets on his supply lines usually having been subbed 5 minutes before, meaning he has to go looking for the ball on the wings... he slots, and he slots well, you cant do that on a flank.

I reckon Segs cld go for 120 mins without sweat though, having seen him in internationals in La Paz and places where he was up and down the field all night, with pretty much all of their play revolving around him.
