Yeah I think are average age is quite miss leading.

Howard's an ageing keeper but not a worry in anyway as he's infact a good age for Gk.

Distin is a freak of nature who plays like a 30yr old and in no way looks like he's on his last legs. We have heitinga who is 28 but not playing aswell as distin.

Neville is playing because there's no one else currently but Gibson at 24 would be starting ahead of him. Mind you you could say Neville would start RB still.

Would ossie be playing such a active role if we had signed ofoe and Gibson stayed fit?? Prob not IMO.

Jags pienaar have only just turned 30 so again a bit miss leading.

Not as bad as it possibly looks on paper, especially at the moment..

Sign someone like Holtby (22) to replace Osman then the average age of the first team will down to 27.63.

Not really arsed about the stat. What does it matter if you've got a 30 year old in a position someone else has a 25 year old, if your 30 year old is a far better player?

Fitness wise Howard is a keeper so he's got yonks, Distin is as fit as ever and Pienaar has years in the tank.

Only Neville grates on me but hopefully when we have Gibson and Felli back he'll be eased out.

Or not.
