Him and Lampard fell out to the point they nearly came to blows at FF,which subsequently meant he was out the team.

That's not downing tools.

We were in a relegation scrap and he refused to warm up and sat on the ball because he was kicking off that Lampard had benched him.

Sounds like downing tools to me. And to do it when in a relegation scrap is an absolute kick in the teeth to the fans that you are letting down.

He was far from good enough to have the attitude that he should be a guaranteed starter.

Putting aside I think he did pretty well for much of his time here , certainly not all , he absolutely adores himself . I know it’s a game where arrogance is fed but honestly I’m not sure I’ve seen anyone quite so pleased with themselves as him . It’s actually made a little bit more annoying by the clearly faux modesty that accompanies it .

You know who the real players are when the chips are down.

When you go back and look at that game it was patched up team with players out of position Jimmy and Dwight wing backs,we played 3 at the back which NEVER works for us,it was a game played under the most extreme pressure.

I think we can look back now on reflection at how the likes Coleman, Coady,Doucoure,Mina when fit, stepped up during that period and never went missing,we were probably lucky we had such strong characters regardless of their of footballing ability.

Look at Spurs now,they've got the ability but zero character.

Horrible times but certain players can look back it and be proud of their contribution...Onana can leg it.

Has fell into the same trap Allardyce did which is be too happy to play up to his marmite image. Doing him no favours and I'd be surprised to see him manage at top level again now, even though his record undeniably proves he's capable.

I've seen many idiotic and incompetent decisions and policies from Everton managers down the years but that one is right up there with them; months of "not good enough" followed by Moist's immediate genius tactical masterstroke of actually giving him a chance. I hope Thelwell sends him a card on every anniversary of JOB's signing reminding him about it.
