Plus has he ever played a game as an orthodox left back? I presume our defenders all do drills on keeping the line straight etc - stuff McNeil won’t be part of but Holgate will.

Yeah, the thing was, McNeill had to fill in for Holgate for most of the game. This nullified his effectiveness going forward. Holgate is a terrible defender and Gray on instead of Holgate with McNeill playing as left back would have been a much better solution

We've looked far better as an attacking threat (esp. away from home) since Dyche arrived than under our last umpteen managers.
