2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Still get the feeling some are hoping we actually start losing football matches again, just so they can say they told us so, it’s all the crap players like they said and that dyche wasn’t doing so bad….. all just a bit weird, own your shizzle and admit you were wrong.

My thanks to him for helping steady the ship under difficult circumstances and keep us up with the deductions, but his total lack of mentality shift and tactical cowardice this season was a disgrace.

I’ll take the evidence of my own eyeballs since Moyes has returned. It’s more than a new manager bounce imo - night and day to what Dyche was serving up.

Players who couldn’t get near the team under the miracle worker playing and now playing well (lindstrom and JOB) - check.

Goals in open play, alien to the team under Dyche - check.

Players playing for each other and supporting each other instead of turning up already beaten under Dyche - check.

Sure, injuries and our small squad will mean we will have sticky periods where we might not win, but at least I feel like we will try to compete now, instead of surrendering any initiative, which we were doing every game under dyche this season.

Just taking Harrison and Young out of the starting11 has improved us ffs.

We were down that first season if he hadn’t come in when he did. He kept us up, and did a good job in terms of meeting his remit. Even with him I wasn’t convinced we would stay up but thought he would also be a good manager to bring us back up if he hadn’t managed to keep us up. He scraped us over the line which from where we were, was a big success.

This season has been awful though. And he rightfully had to go. As he was putting us back where we were when he took over but looking even worse in terms of actually playing football as he is very limited as a manager.

Both things can be true.

I really find it strange how much people play down the quality in the squad as if it’s championship standard etc.

Dyche never believed in himself from the start. You don't say stuff like "I'm only here because of the situation the club is in"(or words to that effect) basically saying in words that he's not really good enough. A bit strange to say that sort of thing.

I don't really understand how some posters are not able to separate the seasons. Most of us said thanks for the last 2 years under very difficult circumstances but he wasn't even matching last season, he'd completely lost the plot.

I still think the Patterson episode was the catalyst for the downfall, you just can't do that these days.

£5m a year he was on, he absolutely should have been doing better, that is elite level money for hoofball and trying not to get beat.

They were right to highlight Moyes' comments about building on what Dyche established, but the moment you mention the improvements Moyes has made compared to Dyche, the "forget the past" shouts start coming out. Proper doubling down and putting the good form all down to a new manager bounce completely undermines the improvements Moyes has made to get us out of the 💩

I always knew these players were capable of more, and clearly, Moyes did too.

The players knew they were capable of more too, but the way Dyche had them playing, was like playing with the brakes on for ninety minutes.

Hence why his team pet, Michael Keane, is the only one of the entire squad to come out and say anything at all about him since he left.

Normally you`d get at least a couple of senior members coming out and thanking the outgoing the manager and wishing them all the best- normally Seamus and Tarks.

The silence is pretty damning and no matter how his last few remaining fan boys on here try to dress things up, speaks volumes of what the team as a whole actually thought of the fella.

I'm not sure I can, tbh. I say that because we were only feated 3 time spin his lat 14 games.

Let's put it this way: he was performing at the level - toward his last few months here- that a relegation threatened club would normally be ok with.
Ok so there’s the difference Dave. It’s not that people can’t acknowledge the part Dyche played in keeping us up. It’s that they’re not willing to accept 3 wins in half a season, no idea on how to get more from the players, no tactical flexibility or ideas, and no ideas on how to get us goals as good enough. We don’t have to accept a relegation threatened existence every year. With Dyche, it was another dog fight and eventually those dog fights catch up to you and you lose one.

I wonder how long a new manager bounce lasts? If he wins say another 5 before the end of the season, is that still just a new manager bounce? Does it run into next season?

At what point is he allowed credit for getting us winning some games and it not being just because he is a “new manager” and actually because of his actual management?
He gets credit now. Pound for pound he’s a better manager than Dyche. If we lose a few that’s par for the course with this Everton side. If they go on a winless run like we’re all used to with these lads, it won’t be Moyes fault.

Dave and I have negotiated a truce for the Health of this forum.

I acknowledge that Dyche did well to keep us up despite the points deductions, and @davek acknowledges that he was useless this season and deserved to be sacked.

So, from yesterday we both got back to supporting Everton, Moyes, new signings and Patterson.

Blessed Deadline Day All.

Not a chance:

He’s never admitted being wrong about anything since the day he joined.

Honestly think there's a chance the U.S. could default by failing to raise the debt ceiling or not paying interest on its obligations. This would obviously cause worldwide financial and geopolitical turmoil, just what these evil bastards want.

There will be an excuse prepared and ready to go as we speak.

Are You pair, trying to make out people that supported Dyche prior to the takeover, are somehow wanting Moyes to fail.
Where have you seen that?

Me last Thursday...

He's so predictable.

Can you imagine having this feller as manager still next summer? About 7 will leave the club and he'll be wondering if he can just bring 3 in to replace them.

Better hope Moyes leaves and is replaced.

There’s pages and pages of this too.
