I think its pretty clear we've been dragged down considering Moyes has walked in and got 10 points out of 15.

I don't even believe this is a bounce, this is just a much better manager making better use of a squad of players who Dyche's fans said couldn't possibly win games in this league without playing backs to the wall football.

I think our nightmare last 5 seasons are on the previous owners, and custodians who ran us into the ground and were more preoccupied with their own self preservation. Remember those chairman letters attacking fans, and board statements hours prior massive games.

Everton's problems haven't been any manager. Moyes was bang on with that assessment.

We were circling the drain long before Dyche. Moyes wouldn't have come to Everton when we had even the likes of Bielsa telling us to jog on. There's a reason we ended up with Dyche when we did.

There is an irony in that many people who didn't want Dyche also didn't want Moyes, its a bit disingenuous now they are hiding behind him throwing stones.

Truth ultimately is Dyche did a great job in his moment in time when the club needed it, it moved on, now Davey is going a great job - thats the reality - it will move on for Davey as well and many will turn on him.

Its predicably inevitable.

Precisely. What sort of manager did people hope we’d get in January 23 sat 19th in the league off the back of firing Lampard and selling Gordon. If you’d also said a few games later we’d be without Calvert Lewin for most of the run in too. The season after we’d sell the rest of your decent attacking players and also there’s two points deductions coming and you have no money to pay for deals upfront.

It’s the easiest thing ever to give it the big NSNO about this season but frankly every single one of you, every single one would have taken this outcome in Jan 23, every single one, some of you would have emptied your bank accounts for it.

A new manager will come in, keep you up, he’ll improve you by 12 points the season after to keep you up despite incurring an 8 point deduction in two separate blows, he’ll also win the derby and bring Branthwaite through to the England squad. Then the next season after another window of sell to profit transfers he’ll hand the club over to new owners outside of the relegation zone with a game in hand.

Those that want to can moan as much as you want and bang on and on and on anbout imaginary scenarios Dyche would or wouldn’t have done, but every single of you would have accepted that deal if offered in January 23, and if you say you wouldn’t you’re an absolute liar.

The club would have been finished if we’d gone down, no new owners, leased stadium, every player sold, the embarrassment of relegation, probable administration as we couldn’t service debts.

I think loads of managers would be willing to come in and would do a better job. Moyes for a start. If we’re basically saying we’re in crisis mode and need to play pragmatic football then I’d sack Dyche and go and get Moyes today.

Now feel free to have a think about the fact Dyche doesn’t understand what is unfolding in front of him in a game of football and is incapable of making the correct subs.

You usually play football manager on here and come up with about 20 different formations he should play. Never tries anything new, you said.

Just to point out, a lot of what people are now commenting about is all the comments and excuses that were put forward about “no one being able to do better with these players” etc. or that the tactics were down to the players available.

That quite evidently isn’t true.

And the posters that were making these comments were also regularly condescending, patronising and plain insulting.

You talk about mitigation, such as spend etc. but then Moyes has come in, been given a singular loan, and has shown that the same squad (with additional injuries) is capable of more. And that’s without spending 2 years coaching the squad in his style including a full pre season.

Very few people said this. Obviously like anything there are always extremes, but it consistently gets put forward as if it was a general default position which it never was.

Personally I said numerous times this season that I thought we were underperforming but not necessarily to the extent you would think looking at some of the comments and reactions on here. I said I thought we were a bottom half team and when that's what you are you're always in danger of being sucked into a relegation battle. At this moment I stand by that, it may change if we continue our recent form but I think it's too early to tell at the moment. Moyes has had an impact and that's brilliant, but whether it's sustainable with the same players is a different matter and I'll wait and see before I give my mea culpa. If that turns out to be the case then great, I couldn't really care less if the opinion I wrote on a forum ends up being wrong and it would mean Everton are doing well so i'll be happy and perfectly content to hold my hands up.

It's probably worth noting that lots of the things people were criticising Dyche for have actually continued but there hasn't been too much acknowledgement of that. There were people who said no other manager would pick Doucoure, playing Keane up front for 5 minutes was undeniable proof of him being a dinosaur, not starting Patterson every week could only mean that he had a personal vendetta, any other manager would have given more chances to Armstrong and Dixon etc etc. Lo and behold Moyes comes in and none of those things change, but very few people have said 'ah fair enough maybe he was right after all'. His results this season weren't good enough and he had to go, but much of the stuff people used to ridicule him was evidently wrong.

Honestly, given the ceiling that Moyes found/created when he was last here, we should be beginning the search for our next manager now.

The intention should be to leave us in a much better on field position than when he joined.

Of course. This won't last but its nice to be proud of the club again and look forward to us playing.

I just hope those in charge are in it for the long haul and are properly putting the structure in place for long term success, and we can get away from the drain. That's more important than whatever we think of Moyes' limitations and the next 12-18 months.

Honestly, given the ceiling that Moyes found/created when he was last here, we should be beginning the search for our next manager now.

The intention should be to leave us in a much better on field position than when he joined.

Should always be the way with any appointment the club makes mate, your potential next appointments should be identified the day after your last.

If I'm being honest, i think Moyes goes upstairs at the end of his contract - in a technical director role - or something like. He just doesn't manage football teams he builds football clubs.

Hes one of a dying breed.

By the way if we leaves we can well and truly kiss goodbye to the massive squad overhaul this summer as the new manager will need to spend the whole window “assessing the squad”.

Im not going trawling but suggestions and comments that the tactics being used were down to the players available to him, other managers aren’t coming in and getting more out of this squad and it’s the players limitations leading to this were said often. It was repeated (admittedly) by a handful is posters, but often the more vocal ones in support of him. Like I’ve said previous, some of them were condescending, patronising and insulting, so people taking digs back at them now is not exactly unexpected.

Ancelotti himself admitted that because he ran away to Real Madrid and said he couldn’t coach our players because they were so bad, compared it to driving a Vauxhall Astra or something didn’t he?

Your head has gone haha. You’ve just been searching for 10 minutes for a post of me saying we should sack Ancelotti, and that is the best you’ve come up with.

Nobody else could do better with these players.
