In fairness we're equally as crap as last year - 1 draw better, PROGRESS LADS, 150 year contract SOON!

Hilarious how @Neiler absolutely missed the analogy and instead moved the goalposts, which in a way is just sticking to his own posting trend in this thread I guess.
Yeah but mate, easier start last season.

Not all that much in it though (but yes, playing two promoted teams last season instead of the 1 this season does make it easier as long as you actually win them)

This season we have played the teams that finished last season in the following positions: 4, 5, 7, 10, 11, 12, 18.

Last season we played: 2, 7, 9, 10, 13, 19, 20.

People saying last year is easier as we had the likes of Fulham and wolves whereas we had teams like Mighty Brighton this year. For comparison, Fulham finished 10th going into last season compared to Brightons 11th going into this season.

On the contrary, im rebuking your assertion that we are four points worse off then last season (not true) and comparing the context. As we know results aren't linear, thus is competitive sport.

Its an interesting point on the 8 point deduction - do we build an 8 point flexibility/tolerance into your equation.

The trick overall is not to deploy the airbags unnecessarily before the cars pulled out of the driveway. ;)
Those airbags are well and truly not going anywhere, just like this group of players, far to good to be in a relegation scrap.

It is true we are 4 points worse off than last seasons results. Its there in black and white!!! You play everyone twice a season and I've matched the corresponding fixtures.

As i've said, we have plenty of scope to catch back up with home defeats last season against the likes of Fulham, Wolves & Luton and points dropped at Sheff Utd, but there are also some fixtures from last season we got impressive results from (Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle at home, West Ham & Brentford away) that we need to find points from.

We cant really be just shrugging our shoulders at points being dropped from last season if we want to even progress 1% farthar than last season

and they all beat us home and away

sorry a draw at fulham and brighton

so 2 pts of them from 18

great stuff

We have the same number of points after the same number games at the same point as last season, I’m not sure what part of this you aren’t getting. Yes we have different results but the league isn’t linear. We haven’t dropped 4point like you said. That would have us on 1 point. So we are at the mean. There is plenty to critique without being non objective.

If you are doing compatible results with a meaningful bottom line you have to have a tolerance of + 8 from the points deduction as real 0. We could loose two and draw 2 and be at real 0 comparatively - unless we get another points deduction.

Disagree also on Everton players being no hopes - I like a lot of some of our players.

Actually I tell a lie we are 1 point better of, of where we where after the same number of games at the same point as last season. Mea Culpa.

Talk about your car crash analogies.

Thanks lids wouldn’t have noticed without all the drama queen shenanigans.

Reality is we have been atrocious at the start of both seasons regardless of how many points difference there is. It is all crap. Might get a better run of a few games here and there but the crap-ness will always return because that is what you get from a crap manager who's top ambition is staying in the league. He wont be around very long once the takeover is complete thankfully.

It’s a perfect opportunity to look at it and I’d encourage the club to do just that.

I’m not convinced the takeover is going to be the revolution many think it will be mind - on many scores.

It will be a wipeout mate, maybe not all at once but in a controlled professional manner. No way will these entertain the serial losers at Everton. Everything will change, i have no doubt at all.

We have dropped 4 points in the comparative games though. So they are correct in saying that. And using the games against the same opposition from last year is a fairly valid way to look at it. Considering commentators and pundits look at recent match history between clubs etc when talking about games

It has happened in Dyche career in almost every year, at least on prem level. As a coach you should normally at least a little reflection on what I could do differently.

You can't start consecutive seasons the way he has and expect to keep your job particularly after a change in ownership. You take yourself out of the season and kill any enthusiasm from your fan base before it even begins. Hopefully TFG are better with the upcoming appointment and we can stop wasting money on sackings. I think he will see out the year barring a disastrous relegation threatening run.

The next run of games give him a chance to pick up some points ahead of a tricky December, he needs too take it imo.
