I've really warmed to seamus. Moves in silence and doesn't cause a fuss.

Not a Captain though lads.
 
I think he is exactly what you want in a captain.

Leads by example, on and off the field.
Great example to younger supporters.
Seems very humble and without a huge ego.
I think he is the kind of man that commands respect without asking for it from all those around him.

The reaction throughout football generally to his injury shows the regard in which he is held.

How the hell would you know? Are you in the dressing room? The players and manager in the locker room usually vote for a captain, no?
 
My parents bumped into Seamus and his family yesterday in Majorca. My Dad is 86 and has Alzeimers, but, Seamus took the time to stop and have a chat with them both. They also sent me a couple of photos with Seamus and he looks genuinely happy to see them both. What a lovely guy who should be our next captain.
Every single thing we know about Seamus points to the fact he should 100% be our captain assuming the recovery goes well and he comes back fighting fit.
