2025/26 Seamus Coleman

Don't think his body is up to the pace of the PL anymore myself mate.

No shame he's 37, its the natural order of things.

I said here the other day that he shouldn't be started in any game. It makes no sense to put him up against lads he's giving away a decade and a half to.

He should be brought on as a sub in a game where the pace has settled.

I just watched him for the RoI and if anyone's arguing he has nothing left to offer on a football pitch they're daft.

Older players need more protection and consideration from managers.

International football is a slower pace then the PL in my opinion mate.

Its not just this incident, when hes been given the nod before like the last game at Goodison hes broken down, its happened in training also.

He thought long and hard about giving it another year, he had to be convinced the club were keener then him they had to wait on him to decide.

The agreement was he'd be bit part. He knows himself, he cant do it week in week out anymore and his playing role is helping out occasional one. Obviously there is the leadership piece and hes coaching already in the academy.

We've done well to have his for this long, but his playing time is almost at an end, last embers if that.

The PL is muderous pace-wise, but that's to my point regarding a sub appearance off the bench. Games do settle down.

His international manager has abused Coleman's patriotism to allow him to get that second game in days after the first, and Moyes is an utter tit as we know who's old school ways cant fathom differential treatment for players.

There's still game time there to be had, but his days are numbered on the pitch after this season. Let's not forget he has been on the pitch a few times this season already, so HAS contributed.

I'd agree with this. For a while now Colemans value has been far beyond the white line. Its clear that he has an immense amount of respect from his team mates and when he speaks they listen. The other thing is, he speaks for Everton and Evertonians, not whatever the manager or coaching team tell him to say, at least more than most. That means he'd have a very different relationship to the team than he would if he was a coach. I think that if he was a coach he could be viewed as being a mouthpiece for whoever was in charge at the time.

The time may come where he is a coach, Ive no idea of his actual footballing coaching capabilities, but for now I'm glad hes part of the playing staff, and more importantly, most of the other playing staff are as well.
Does he? I must have missed the vote on that one.

Down to Moyes for playing a 37 year old so soon after he'd played twice in a week for his country.

You mean like you wanted him to?

Ther only measure of a player is what they contribute. Age is not an issue if they can contribute. And quite clearly Coleman still has something to offer.

Over to the idiot manager to use him now...

Well let's find out if he can still do it for Everton at RB now we cam all see he's put a few shifts in for the RofI.

That's a better option than taking our only quality forward passer out of midfield to put him at RB or play a CB there who cant attack.

Not your Mate.....

And if you would like to screenshot all your crap I can gladly arrange a face to face so you can show Seamie.....

You'd change the tone then. Clown....

Congrats you and Davek on the ignore list.....

Good achievement that

HAHAHAHAHA can’t believe I missed this, @Nymzee offered out by Seamus Coleman’s own GOT burner account.

Imagine thinking I wouldn’t tell Coleman he’s now crap to his face as well 😂

To be fair I would be interested to learn his motivations for not saving his legs by retiring from international football years ago. If he says outright that it’s because his priority is Ireland then I’d genuinely respect the honesty.

He 100% didn't retire in the Summer because he knew he had a chance of qualifying for this 500 team World Cup.
