2025/26 Seamus Coleman

Running around a bit doesn't = effective cover: tracking back and taking up a RB position if the RB is caught upfield is what's required.

Ndiaye's shift over to the right has been the cause of problems for anyone who's played at RB this season. Only Garner can get away with it because he's an athletic player.

Am I reading this right. You think that the winger should drop back to cover the RB position, if the full back ventures forward?

Surely that is tactically insane, if I do have it right? Surely a defensive midfielder or the centre backs should be covering this when the team is attacking.

Also, Ndiaye is easily one of the hardest working wingers around. He is constantly backing up the full back.

I was always coached, that when the full back goes up field, the centre half pulls across slightly, to be able to cover the empty space in case the full back gets caught with the ball.

But what do I know, Dave very nearly made it as a pro ( in his head ) and I only got as far as division two of the Business Houses.

A coach - I did not realise they took all your teeth out & put seats in .....

Yes, you are reading it right. Baines and Pienaar were an excellent partnership because of it. There's nothing 'tactically insane' about it. It's been a part of the game since the Dutch were rotating into empty spaces in the 1970s...and possibly dates back to the great Hungarian sides of the 1950s.

You are right though to point out the requirement of a CD to shuffle across and help out on occasion too. That's the reason whey Tarkowski should be dropped ASAP: he's been 'kin hopeless all season at helping his FB out...or doing his own job for that matter. His head is gone completely but Moyes is determined to keep him in the team rather than partner Keane up with O'Brien.

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.

Do me a 'kin favour.

Genuine laugh out loud moment that is.

Played from the age of 8 - 31 for local teams, Saturday as an adult was a half decent standard, Sunday was a kick about.

Took over running a team for a couple of years too, no wingers doubling up as full backs, just conventional full backs and wingers - sorry.

Never got as far as playing full back for CSKA Moscow like you though and never scored a screamer at Old Trafford either.

Alternative to right back? I love the man but he's only been able to contribute 20 minute cameos in the few times he's played. He should be absorbed into the coaching staff.

Seamus already has an agent Dave you don't need to audition with your own PR packet 😂
We'd be lucky to get 20 mins out of him at this point. His last two starts he lasted 18 mins then 10 mins. He's done. That doesn't detract from what he was for us, he just isn't anywhere near that anymore.

What? No Stretford End heroics? :(

Don't forget Dave would have been a pro if it wasn't for a knee injury.
