2025/26 Seamus Coleman

His best days are way behind him, but what a guy to have about the place. I don't understand the folks slating him (some do it for the bite🎣) as he is what epitomises an Evertonian. Imo
Some of those folks are more annoyed at the club for giving him another 12 month deal off the back of a season where he had played very little. We need to stop keeping players hanging around when they are well past being able to contribute on the pitch, but that`s not the players fault it`s the clubs fault.

Personally think Moyes has earned the right to make the call on Coleman. If he sees him being about as a benefit I'd trust his judgement
He could give him another 12 month extension so he could sit on the bench alongside the players we signed last summer that have just sat on the bench playing very little. I`d prefer we gave contracts to players that will be available to play for us, not just for their national team, and add a bit to the squad rather than fill the bench when fit.

interesting podcast that,
I'll never understand the crap he gets on here off certain posters.
He's one of the most important players in the history of the club.
It's probably because he has barely played for us for about 4 seasons now.

Like most, I love him, but there are some questions to be asked. We does he never play if he is available? It's weird, it's not like we are flush with right backs.

The history of the club? How many players are you putting into this category? I really like Seamus but I could name 20 far more important players without trying and if I kept going that doesnt become as exclusive as it sounds.

Not sure of the exact number but I believe without him there’s a good chance we’d be in Leicester’s situation. I didn’t say ‘best’

…..I’d think the only way he’s not at the club next season (in whatever capacity) is if he chooses to leave, and the only way he chooses to leave is if he fancies a crack at management.

If the timing was right, I could see the ROI being interested in him.
Time is not right. He needs a good few years as a proven club manager first.

I could see him linking with Baines and them doing a good job in the Championship
