Fair to say I've had a drink but Seamus commitment to being such a fantastic professional over the last 15 plus years, if the football gods are up there, he deserves to hang his hat on something more than anyone. Czech as a nation couldn't care less and would bring nothing to the tournament. It's sometimes hard to understand why, despite our low population, we just don't seem to have the quality when it counts, as the appetite for soccer is very very healthy.

I think he is using his Everton contract to stay fit for the Republic of Ireland games ( good work if you can get it). Now they are out, pretty sure he will retire here soon. Great guy, great servant to the team but possibly one contract too many...
Not sure what you mean by using? I would strongly argue his contract is not merit based, he is our only premier league standard right back in the squad, moyes is hesitant on him because of his age but I thought he looked very sharp tonight and looked after the ball very well
How bad must international footie be if he can do 95 mins for Ireland but struggles to make it past 15 for us.

Not sure I agree with the first bit especially considering he's never fit and usually lasts about 10mins for us.

He's pretty much been stealing a living for the last 3 seasons, but he doesn't renew his own contract. This is on the club as they haven't managed to find a replacement for him.
At least he’s match fit and ready to give it his all for Everton for the rest of the season.

Patterson has been fully fit for months now and Seamus hasn't been near the squad. Don't see how you come to that conclusion.... Patterson clearly isn't up to the standard and more managers than Moyes have thought so...
What is clear is how much better Seamus is and has been better than Patterson when fit. So comparison on effort, ability and fitness.

Coleman's contract hasnt been merit based for many, many years. If it was then he'd have left many years ago.

Moyes is choosing to play a CB at RB over an international RB like Coleman.
That's down to him. Just another one of his clueless decisions.
If we can get shut of the Patterson dud for even a couple of million we should be looking to get a new starting RB in and retain Coleman for another season and hand him the Euro games for his vast experience playing foreign opposition if we qualify for Europe.
That'd be the sensible way forward here at this RB position.
