Seamus Coleman isn't up to it.

Frankly Coleman is not up to it. I've thought this for a while. He never gets his delivery in. If you are a right winger, you need to make sure that you get your crosses in, but even when he has time to pick a cross he waits til he's closed down and lays it back to hibbo who puts the ball in. how much would cahill love those early balls whipped in before the defence is set?

either he waits too long or his dreadful first touch bumbles the ball towards the defender. poor again today, althuogh he does offer us a good defensive option (unlike gueye/drenthe).

Not his greatest game today but that's no excuse to make him the latest scapegoat. Maybe not the long term answer to the RM position but it's better than having Osman back there. Coleman offers much more even if he's not Andrei Kanchelskis.

Nee naaw naaaw neeee nawwww

Scapegoat police en route

Not scapegoating anyone.

Fellaini's passing was dreadful at times. As was Neville's. Saha was never in the game and Tim Cahill didn't do much except work hard again. Bily.. well... the usual (except for a couple of Zidane-esque touches).

But everyone knows that. I'm just pointing out that, maybe because he's young, Coleman seems to be immune to critisism and hailed as the next Cafu; which he isn't.

To be fair I don't think OP is scapegoating Coleman at all. Seemingly he's had these criticisms for a while.

Perhaps it's bad timing as Coleman wasn't bad today at all, but I actually agree on some level. I think he's a fairly poor right midfielder. I just think he'd be a good fullback. Certainly better than Hibbert.

I remember (just about) one where Hibbert overlapped and was nearly into the box when Coleman played a 5 yard ball at a ridiculous angle with no pace that went straight to Vermaelen's feet.
I specifically remember that moment and how much it p*ssed me off. Gives away stupid fouls too and was lucky we had Webb reffing today as a lot of refs would have sent him off today. When he first came in he was like a breath of fresh air as he would go at people and beat them for sheer pace. However, he's a bit of a one trick pony and as mentioned earlier, cleverer fullbacks know how to deal with him. The idea of him at fullback actually worries me more. those stupid fouls are generally when he's chasing back. If he was a fullback he'd have to be an attacking fullback and those situastions would be more frequent and he'd often be the last man. Not sure. He's still young and may develop but at the moment, moys's comments about Barkley being a liability defensively leave me baffled considering this lad's on the pitch every week and doesn't offer as much in the final third by a long stretch.

Wow. Just wow.

He was our best player today, along with Baines. How you can question his quality is remarkable. He has a League 2 player behind him, No strikers to aim for and is playing in an unfavoured position Moyes has assigned him to.

One of the only ones today who looked capable of creating something. I think he's hit a nice bit of form, it is just unfortunate the rest of the team have been dross.

If anyone needs slating for not being of the right level in quality, its Hibbert.
I must have watched a different match.

I thought he did ok today, was probably the only player on our team willing to take on the arsenal defence, everyone else slows things down and tries to get the ball out to baines by which time the opposition have regrouped and doubled up on our dangerous aeriel players, and the danger is over.

His style of play is fine, the things he tries to do is good.

Unfortunatly he's just not good enough at them really, which is a shame for him and i wish he would prove me wrong.

Utter ****e. Hibbo made 2 VITAL blocks today, and has been exceptional all season.

Hes not a winger and he never has been, the longer Moyes plays him out of position the less chance there is he will make it as a full back, Moyes will destroy him if he carries on like this, at home against the likes of Norwich he should be our RB, I dont and never will rate Hibbert, but I understand the argument for having him in the team for some away games. but if were gonna break teams down at home then having balance in the FB positions will help.

plus coleman has managed 1 attempted cross in last 2 games. bily has attempted 13. he doesnt get his crosses in. drenthe on right would be best, and either barkley / gueye on other. barkley would be more natural, allowing baines to overlap but gueye has a cracking delivery so would be happy with that
