SCRAP VAR

Michael Oliver rejecting var's decision and for Brighton to score goal of the season, best he'll ever score only for it to be chalked off. Football is being ruined. Only matter of time before players have GPS fitted etc and referees are abandoned.

Described as “to be used to clear up Clear and Obvious mistakes! It’s a joke, and is ruining the game, administered on and off the pitch by clear land obvious incompetence!
Happened again at Old Trafford, perfectly good Arsenal goal chalked off!
Kevin Keegan, when the manager of Man City, in 2008 (I think) said that the referees wanted control over the game and footballers would become robots.
Control the game, then yes, just as it always had been. But control over the game???? We can all see how this is working out. Little Man syndrome. They are all control freaks, as confirmed at Sheffield University, circa early millennia.

He was correct, and football is far, far worse for it as it is no longer a game of spontaneous passion.

So how do they fix this now, you can't say sorry, maybe a rematch
Just scrap it, it’s an absolute joke, it was only ever meant to be used for clear and obvious errors that the officials had made, they are literally involved in everything now, they checked a penalty at Brighton before that was stonewall nobody really protested against it but still they got involved, but didn’t even check the possible red card for Van Dijk yesterday? Get to F

VAR is doing exactly what it's designed to do, fix results when the ESL clubs have non scripted incidents go against them.

I say keep var but

1) make it black and white silhouettes so the decision maker doesn't know who it's for

2) don't use refs, have specialist VAR operators

3) have the conservation between the ref and var operator on the speakers so the crows can hear what they're saying

The technology is fine in general it’s the application of the rules still causing problems. Until there’s some sort of accountability nothing will change.
I’m amazed with the sums of money involved and these clowns having the potential to cost clubs millions that there not been more threats of legal action. Even a place in the league is worth millions now.

Seems like there are far too many people on the make for them to bother fixing VAR. What's stopping an official from getting a mate from sticking a bet on a game and the official then changing a referee's decision to suit? A VAR decision can single-handedly decide the result of any game, without fear that they'll be punished for any incorrect or decisions they make that are so obviously wrong.

Should be two separate VAR officials in separate locations, not in contact with each other, and decisions are only made/changed/upgraded etc if both VAR officials make the same decision.

Or just get rid of all of the corrupt British officials whose mates play in the Premier League and ship in an unbiased set from Africa or South America or something and pay them with rewards for the fewer controversial decisions that are made.

It's as much incompetence as it is corruption, the pool of refs is so small these days that the better ones are still poor
