If this is a "Fact" I would bloody love you to prove this. An absolute myth.
Celtic have been confirmed as the favourite Scottish football team following a global study. Business traffic site SEMrush compared Scottish teams to determine the most popular club and with 946,400 Google queries per month, Celtic were significantly larger than their Glasgow rivals in terms of internet queries. Celtic came first in 146 countries including USA, Australia and Brazil. The findings emphasis that Celtic is a global club, with supporters scattered throughout the world.

Celtic are also the biggest Scottish football club in terms of social media reach. Celtic boast over 484k followers on Instagram, compared to the second highest coming from Rangers’ 388k. On Twitter, Celtic have an enormous 681k followers compared to Rangers’ 541k.

.............

Deloitte have released their annual report that details the world’s richest clubs. But there is no place for a Scottish team. Instead, Celtic make only the top 50. Deloitte say the Premiership champions are positioned somewhere between 40 and 50 with their exact placing still to be determined. Rangers are outside the top 70 and again no specific position has yet been detailed.

The reality is that Celtic dwarf rangers.

Didn't think you would be using an article from THAT newspaper to back up another pathetic attempt at trolling?

Celtic are known the world over. Of course it's that brand pulling the cash in and the payment for the game has to reflect that.

Rangers are an SPL club - it's not like they're a PL club and they get exposure globally. In that respect it'd be out of order for Everton to get less cash than Liverpool in any derby fixture down there. But the same cant be said for the Glasgow clubs. The SPL isn't a commercial draw and the only reason that Aussie game will go ahead is because it's Celtic.

The tour is being billed as Ange's homecoming. Of course Celtic are a bigger fish in this tournament. If it were in Rotterdam and was billed as Giovanni's homecoming, or at Annfield and billed as Steven Gerrard's homecoming, I would admit Rangers were the bigger draw in that tournament.

It would appear this is what's really riling 'Ra peepul' but they can't bring themselves to admit it, and instead come up with absolute drivel like our board had to apologise to the fans for referring to the newco as Rangers or Celtic's statement last year they weren't part of anything days after renewing the old firm trademark. ?

Former Rangers chairman, and managing director, Hugh Adam's comment on both clubs global appeal.

He is adamant that Rangers do not have the customer base to improve their financial standing through merchandising. "Rangers’ so-called global appeal is a myth," he said. "When I was there, we did an exercise which involved asking 50,000 fans on the database to recommend a friend or a relative abroad.

"A big response was expected - some were even talking about getting 100,000 names - because everybody in Scotland seems to know somebody abroad.

"We got back 2,800 names and three-quarters of them didn’t know they had been nominated. It’s no surprise that Celtic are officially the best-supported football club in North America, with more official clubs than anybody else. The difference is the Irish connection.

"Many Irish people may support Manchester United, Liverpool or whoever, but they all - every one of them - have an affection for Celtic. And, of course, Celtic also have a great Scottish following.

"The difference is that, while the Irish all have an allegiance to Parkhead, there are millions of Scots who not only don’t support Rangers, but actively dislike them.

"Despite the claims of international appeal, Rangers are, essentially, a West of Scotland club. They talk of supporters’ buses leaving from all parts of Scotland, but if you look closely, you’ll see there aren’t many from each area and they are not all full.

"This doesn’t mean that even Celtic will earn fortunes from emigrant supporters. There may be more of them than Rangers fans, but it doesn’t mount to the kind of income necessary to fund their ambitions. But Celtic have been, since Fergus McCann’s arrival, much the better-run club.

I honestly dont know why the Sevco fan challenged me on that claim. It's an established fact that Celtic are huge whereas rangers are a well known Scottish team. Nothing remotely controversial about it.
