It's a great city but the council are doing their best to mess it up. It's like a permanent building site.
As for the football, there's not much quality outside the old firm and precious little from them either. But that's been the case for decades.
Was the first time I’ve been and I was impressed. Although a few who I travelled with and had been previously, mentioned the disappearance of a lot of shops and dept stores. Suppose that’s happening in most other major cities as well though.

Was in Edinburgh for the weekend and went to the Hibs vs St Johnstone game. It was tough viewing. It finished 0-0 and neither side looked like scoring. The standard of football was shocking, and would put it on a par with league two here. The only positive being tickets only £5. Great city though.
It is indeed a great City mate, massively different to Glasgow but I enjoy them both equally.
Pity a better game couldn't be served up for you but I guess the clue was in the price of the ticket.

That's called a black swan moment.

Maybe so, maybe not, I don't know enough Old Firm fans to comment and be so sure that the majority (extreme majority is what I guess you are insinuating) are religious bigots. never been close enough, i.e. lived in Glasgow, been to games, etc.

I have been to one Ibrox game with my mate and it is was fine, heard nothing bigoted or abusive (OK wasn't an old firm game as I am sure that creates a lot more tension than a random European home game that I went to), in fact there were signs saying that anything abusive or sectarian would automatically mean a ban, etc. Also, went to the UEFA Cup/Europa League final when they played Zenit in Manchester. Wore my Everton shirt and around the ground and in the ground only saw good people enjoying themselves. Even a few, who didn't have tickets, were talking to me (Non Rangers fan with a ticket) were joking around and being really friendly. I know there was trouble in the city centre and that is unacceptable, I suppose we can generally go on personal experience and I have never had any problems with them or Celtic fans, in my limited experiences.

What personal experience have you had, I know you absolutely detest them and that is generally spawned from personal experience, apologies if you have mentioned it before. Realise that may sound like I am trying to catch you out but generally interested in what makes you so angry at them as a group?

Good post mate.

I've been to Celtic Park a few times and the same was the case; no sectarian singing because they were playing the likes of Dundee United and Hibs at the time. I'm not talking about these clubs as they now are, I'm tallking historically.

On Rangers: it's only been a generation or so since they had their organisation pulled out of the primordial swamp it had been enveloped in since 1872 in order to embrace the modern world. There's still bound to be an older generation - pre-Souness revolution and a few years after - that are still knocking about their fan base. The club itslef has been largely cleansed, it has to be said. They're just 90 minute bigots these days in the OF matches.

Love Edinburgh. Glasgow also has some lovely sights. In fact I have loved visiting Scotland. Long overdue a visit.
Lads, we are all Celts not Sassenach. Our language is very similar. The name Scottii was given by the Romans to raiders from Ireland. I have no time for religious difference causing hassle.

Nevertheless, I love Dublin's overflow - Liverpool :)

I kind of feel the Mark Walters signing, was something Rangers did deserve credit for. I think they were the first of the old firm clubs, to sign a black player.
First of all congratulations for using the correct terminology.
Secondly I can't believe the guy who knows everything about everything didn't know this
"Gil Heron - Wikipedia" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gil_Heron

Yes another first for Celtic.

Thirdly yes I accept your unreserved apology for calling me a bigot.
