Is Gerrard a legend at rangers if he leaves or is he cast out as a pariah?

?
There won't be Everton levels of hatred towards him from Rangers fans but obv will be some that won't forgive him for leaving mid-season.
Most fans will acknowledge and appreciate the job he's done at Rangers and whoever turns up next to manage us has a pretty good starting point to continue on from where Gerrard has left off.
Nobody is bigger than the club however and although him leaving at this point is a massive blow we'll move on and hopefully continue to improve, have already commented this season that we've went a bit stale regarding performances on the pitch so maybe this will be a good thing and re energise us with a new Manager. (GVB is a good shout!)

Gerrard stopped the 10, but that's all he has in the grand scheme of things

Had a chance to win 9 domestic cups whilst managing one of the top two teams in the country and only won 1 of them

Tom English made a good point, St Johnstone have won double the trophies Gerrard has won during his time there, despite spending a comparatively paltry amount

He probably should have stayed at Rangers a bit long in order to try and pad the CV out a bit.
Tbh we were an absolute mess when he took over and although performances in the cups were poor, winning the league and performing well in europe was always the main priority.
Not happy he's left us in the lurch obv, but will always be grateful to how he transformed the team, still think his stature as a Manager would have improved more if he continued on and won another league and competed in the Champions league next season rather than going to Villa but think he's been restricted financially to the point that he probably feels he can't improve us any further and so has been tempted by money available to spend and the quality of players he'll be able to attract to AV in the EPL, he's taking a big gamble on his credibility as a manager as it would've been easier for him to stay put , time will tell if he's made the right decision.

He's taking more of a risk going to Villa than he did Rangers IMO, he'll be lookin for any slight improvement to be seen as a massive plus but what holds if they get relegated?
Oh how Rangers must have laughed when Rodgers left but at least they had a ready made replacement that continued winning all of the trophies on offer, Rangers will struggle to be that lucky.

Let's have it right (and this is difficult to admit for obvious reasons) but he added the professionalism and credibility to that club it was missing for a decade and more.

It was more than just a title he accomplished in Scotland.

*feels sick saying the above*

Rangers got used by Stevie Me in the same way Aston Villa will now get used. It'll all a stepping stone for him to get the RS job. Rangers will do better out of this move then Villa will.

Just been speaking to my Celtic mate about this.

It`s a massive gamble for him, as if he tanks at Villa, that`s the RS job out of the window, especially seeing that Villa appear to have done an Everton and spunked a load of money on over priced players, who don`t seem to be able to play together or be arsed.

Think he'll actually do well at Villa tbh.
As for us whoever comes in is in a decent position to become an instant hero!
Stevie who????
