….very composed in a hot atmosphere. Quality to join-in passing moves with teammates, decent size and athleticism. Trouble against a tricky winger and work needed on the defensive side of his game but it’s laughable to say he was ‘tripe all day’.

When you form an opinion of somebody months ago without watching, be prepared to watch rationally and not with blinkers. Benitez iclearly rates him and I can understand the interest.
He had the arse ripped out of him by an Israeli winger all day and added nothing to his own team's attack.

How on earth can you challenge an assessment that had his 96 minutes down as tripe?

He's SPL level...barely.

Good to see that odious nation beaten.

But Scotland were tripe. Israel are the level of Halifax Town.
Thanks for all your positive input, away and watch the mighty Andorra.
He was tripe. A team like Israel content to hand the opposition the ball all game and he went past a defender once in 96 minutes.

Crosses cut out, gave a way possession.

O'Donnell must have pissed in Clarke's granola to be sitting on thre bench under these circumstances.
Says a lot that you think that a plodder like O'Donnell would've been a better option than a young exciting talent like Patterson tbh.

…..very encouraged by your assessment of Patterson, given this is what you said about Townsend;

….chuffed for Scotland, terrific win.

I watched the recent Euro semi-final between Spain and Italy. I thought Spain were an outstanding football side. I watched the Nations League semi-final the other night and, once again, was blown away by Spain.

Scotland aren't even in the same Universe as Spain never mind the same league, but they gave their all tonight. After gifting Israel two goals, they fought back and, in my opinion, thoroughly deserved the win.

Hiff and puff as usual. They'll get a play off place and fail.

There's a reason Scottish football has been in the doldrums for decades: their players are 'kin rubbish.

Andorra. Lol.

You think I support England? They're on a different planet to your bunch of no hopers though.

I haven't seen much of him. He played well against Celtic at Ibrox last season, but most of the SPL teams played well against Celtic last season.

I wouldn't dream of writing him, or any player, off on the basis of one game, but if you, or anyone, thinks he was anything other than poor tonight then we'll have to agree to disagree.

Eggs is a Rangers supporter mate. That might inform you quite a bit.

You have nothing whatsover to come back at my assessement of Patterson. Nothing.

….he’s a very decent footballer. Just look at his composure on the ball, the little triangles he plays with teammates. Just watch back how often he’s the out ball, it’s an indication of how much he’s trusted. Genuinely, they would turn the other way if they didn’t trust him.

There was a long spell in the 2nd half where attacks came down his side as opposed to Robinson (terrific ball in for the 2nd goal). You’re right, the winger was a handful for him but he’s the type that would give somebody like Godfrey a twisted bowel. He’s pis sibyl played more games for Scotland than Rangers, a huge learning curve.

He’s a decent footballer.

If Gilmour hadn't been on the pitch he wouldn't have had a kick all night. It was only him trusting him with the ball.

If you see a PL player there on that evidence you must be taking the piss.

…I’m 65 years of age and would certainly have no issue admitting if your statement was true. It’s not. I have admitted I know somebody involved in the first team set-up at Rangers but I have absolutely no allegences.

Old Firm was a terrific experience for a neutral but you have to concentrate on what both sets of supporters are singing about.

Poor Dave, don’t let the truth get in the way of your agenda. Mind you, if your assertion was true, it wouldn’t affect an assessment of a footballer unless you watch games with blinkers on!!

Hilarious!! There's only one reason that a bigot like you picked on 19 year old Nathan Patterson for criticism?
