Listening to a bit of fallout from the Kilmarnock Celtic game where Boyd was hit by a coin and suffered what is considered sectarian abuse . Also Kilmarnock complaining about seats being smashed , fans and smoke bombs on the pitch. So far it Doesn’t seem to have got as much publicity as the Lennon incident , although it does seem another controversial character in Scottish football has had a club thrown at him and it does seem to be a problem .
Maybe down South, but up here it's hardly been out of the news. The reaction to the damaged seats has been a tad OTT, with statements from Kilmarnock about how Celtic will have to pay for the damaged seats, when it's a standard thing amongst clubs that they pay for the damage. Some of the outrage was tempered last night when Richard Gordon revealed Aberdeen billed Rangers for 200 damaged seats after their recent game at Pittodrie, but, as in all other incidents of this kind of vandalism/over exuberance, Aberdeen didn't go to the press to whine about it.
Aberdeen handled the situation the way all clubs handle it. They just billed the visiting club for any damage. Why Kilmarnock would issue a statement about how they expect Celtic to pay for any damaged sets, when they already know the rules say it, and that's definitely what will happen seats is beyond me.
I hope they catch the moron who threw the coin, and ban him. Players, and managers, should be able to go about their business without having to worry about people throwing objects at them. Who do these people think they are, that they have the right to try and hurt someone, because they don't like him, or the result isn't gong the way they had hoped?
