A caller on Clyde this week suggested making the top league into 14 teams with a first phase where everyone plays each other twice and then a second phase with a split into two groups of 7 where everyone plays each other a further two times, thus making 38 games in total

I personally think that is a great idea
Mark mcgee was speaking about the current split on the radio
Without going on too much he was saying 5th 6th teams have only one winnable game v each other
If the split was 7/7 lots of meaningless games
If somebody like hibs/hearts/aberdeen finish 8th after a slow start they could kick on and be best of the rest and for what reward ?
The clubs wouldn't agree to miss out at least 1 old firm payday guaranteed, even missing out the good away support from those other three clubs would worry them

Cove Rangers won the Highland League today with about 5 games to spare. I’m not sure who’s winning the Lowland League at the moment but Cove are ambitious and wanting league football. Other recent HL winners , Brora , Buckie have been a bit disinterested in the play offs because of financial disadvantages, lon* journeys for part timers etc. Apparently Cove will be in their new stadium come August too, so it could be a new name in Scottish football next season.

Set up by Rangers fans if my memory serves me right
They'll struggle with crowds imo
Obviously a bit like when Peterhead got promoted you might see a surge in interest.
But good luck to them

Was it Dan Meis or Lego that was involved with the stadium design?

Morton 3 v 2 Dumbarton

Poor fare from two poor teams, scraped the win, but Dundee Utd beating the spoon burners put a spanner in the works.Still in contention for the playoffs, but clinging on tbh. :(

Imagine if Lennon had been managing us last week and we'd turn out that performance against Liverpool?

He'd have booted half the team onto the coach!
He would have had apoplexy.

Hibs squad are a bit scared of him as indeed are the media. There's a strange look about him and we know that he can get extremely aggressive at the drop of a hat.

No one is scared of Allardyce.

About 3/4 years ago I ridiculed the fact he was being linked with us in the daily rags, now with the dross that is being served up and the lack of any passion or responsibility he is one guy who could bring that back though I think he will be back at Parkhead in the blink of an eye when Brenda moves on.
