Imagine the league was chock full of Liverpool supporting refs. Imagine they were in a secretive organisation that excluded Everton fans, and was supposed to help each other out.

Imagine they had been photographed making 'secret' handshakes with Liverpool players before kick off. and they regularly made ludicrous decisions in favour of Liverpool, and against Everton.

Imagine years after these referees retired they went to Liverpools supporters nights and bragged about how they gave Everton nothing and gave Liverpool everything.

All of that happened with Rangers supporting referees.

Are you seriously trying to tell me you wouldn't think, just maybe, the referees allowed their support for Liverpool to influence their decisons? 🤨

This doesnt happen in England. Officials are asked what team they support, and aren't allowed to officiate in games involving their team. In Scotland officials are still allowed to work at games involving the team.
13 titles and numerous cups in 14 years would indicate it's not affected them too much?

It's nowhere near as bad as it used to be. Also, VAR makes it harder for an official to allow his heart to rule his head, as there are people in a studio analysing every major incident.

Even in the dark days, there is only so much an official can do. If the team he supports is being comprehensively beaten, there's no point in awarding a dodgy penalty in favour of his team or ignoring a stonewally penalty offence by one of his teams defenders.

I'm sure even the more fervent bluenose would admit Rangers have been poor for a long time. On the face of it, wining 13 out of 14 titles seems incredible, but Rangers weren't even in the Scottish Premiership for a few of them, and when they eventually reached the top division, they weren't very good.
