Has been for a while, but sure.

In Everton terms - Lampard came in with the 3-4-3 idea, saw it won't work and rallied the troops for the end of season. Now we have a plan and we're trying to play our way (even if it's still not exactly great at times, there's attempts). You can't go in on passion all the time.

Gio came in and rallied the troops for Europe, achieved great things but frailties were showing as it was mostly kamikaze football. Now the frailties are on full display.

The kopite had a good record against Celtic as well ffs Gio's been losing to them just about every single time lol

Reckon he gets sacked before the WC, personally if it goes bad at or before Aberdeen I'd sack him then and there.
It's really strange because in terms of his managerial CV, Gio seemed to be an upgrade on slippy g. It's not working out that way at the moment though!

Amazing recruitment meant that Feyenoord had more or less outstanding players for the league, even with Ajax in it.

Even when they won the title/cups they either dodged Ajax and PSV or straight up drew against Ajax at best lol

Also ironic that dave is saying that about Gerrard, a RS, and Gio, the manager of the team he hates as much as the RS, because he's watched them under both, but denies to this day that this is exactly why Martinez had a great first season for us and got his favourite 72 points trophy. lol
Dont compare Roberto with those two 'kin chumps.

Ahh a plan, those were the days!!

We can all see this is only going one way ,but the board only see the money he's brought to the club from the run to Europa league final, qualifying for the Champions league and the sales of Bassey and Aribo which came from mainly their performances during the Euro run.
End of the day as far as the board are concerned getting into the CL was an unexpected bonus and in the 11 months GVB has been here he has brought in approaching £100 million to the coffers through Europe and player sales and he won the Scottish Cup(first in 13 years !) into the bargain.
So GVB has plenty of credit with the board and as long as he can win domestically and continue to stay in touch to potentially win the league they'll ignore the CL results(for now) and tell him to carry on.
His negative, insipid style of football is sucking the life out of the players and supporters, so don't see him being able to survive much longer, can only hope we don't hand celtic too much of a points advantage before any replacement can come in.

Good post mate, exactly as I see it panning out.

Struggle to understand why anyone would be daft enough to risk their job by doing that,in the grand scale of people who should be leaving the club at the moment he's a complete no mark tbh.
Probably get a nice payoff and start another job soon nearer to 'home' ?
I'm a one club supporter and understand his passion for his team(Even if it is the RS)
But I would want to both do my best for and have respect for my employers..

Certainly wouldn't want to give him a pay off but they might have no choice in the matter.

What a numpty though.

Gerrard was the one who got rangers to that European final last season. They were his players with the organisation in Europe that he instilled into them.

No way a 9-1 aggregate scoreline would have happened under him.

Beale was apparently a big input into the mentality and strategy. If GVB is sacked he would have to be hot favourtite for that job.
I've got to agree with that. I think it was generally understood that Beale was the one bringing a real understanding of tactics to the team. I knew that Beale had a bumpy start at QPR but their record since the first couple of games has been very good.
I read the rumours that some PL teams are sniffing around him now. I think now he would be the sensible option if (when) GVB gets the bullet.

How would rangers fan react if Gerrard went back to Ibrox?
