You would've thought so.

They are different type of player's, Parker more of a workhorse, Arteta creative.

My memory fails me but we probably did sign Neville that transfer window.

We finished fourth so I was surprised that Parker choose a Souness led Newcastle. There and West Ham he won plenty of plaudits but nothing else. He would've played European football with us in a few season's, perhaps bringing him more attention. He was highly rated at Charlton, didn't feature much for a successful Chelsea side.

I feel like I know a bit too much about his career reading that back! I think he would've been a decent player for us at the time, but he's hardly the one who got away.
