He was a full back, could play on the left or right side. I think you’ll find he was providing a lot of assists for Kenny Dalglish who along with a few other players were known as the “Quality Street Gang”Says he scored 4 goals in his entire career

He started drinking after a leg break. Yeah ok, go look at Scotland vs England games in the 60’s when England was arguably at their best.
From 1960 to 1967, he was a leading member of a strong Scottish international team that lost only once to England, in 1966, shortly after he recovered from the leg fracture
You’ll maybe find that “politics” were involved in picking international teams back thenAnd yet they never qualified for the 62, 66 or 70 world cup.
I'm one of his biggest defenders on here but he really shouldn't be picking Maguire and Henderson for this one. I'd actually quite like him to try some untested players, especially at CB. Guehi and Colwill would be good to seeDepends what side the drip puts out, if he starts Saudi Henderson to shuffle Bellingham wide again then the Scots have a chance. My fear is him ‘resting’ JP and playing Ramsdale or Johnstone and them dropping a clanger
I agree, I think Kane is another one who could be doing with a rest.I'm one of his biggest defenders on here but he really shouldn't be picking Maguire and Henderson for this one. I'd actually quite like him to try some untested players, especially at CB. Guehi and Colwill would be good to see

I think at that point of his career he could barely stand upA man classed as Notts Forest worst ever signing.
Pffftttt world class.

Baxter was “arguably” World Class, because of his story we will never really know. He broke his leg when he was 24/25 and started drinking heavily shortly afterwards. The player than ran Alan Ball ragged was a shadow of himself by that point.Wasn't that just after the England game in 67 as well.
Deary me, he has the odd great game and does a bit of keepy up and that's world class in your book.
So to sum this thread up, Scotland have had tonnes of world class players throughout their history and England have had 1.
It seems having a good game against Alan Ball makes you World Class.
Bobby Moore, widely accepted as World Class. So to sum this thread up, Scotland have had tonnes of world class players throughout their history and England have had 1.
But there are some quality Scottish players in the 50’s before WW2 etc
