It's about having options isn't it? Everton football club aren't going to play the same way week in week out with the same first eleven. It's just doesn't work like that, especially with the Uefa cup.

If anything having Paul Scholes would give us the option of moving Arteta outwide if we are lacking wide players. And we wouldn't lose any passing ability or creative in the middle of the park.

But we would, for an absolute fact.

Why aren't the biggest teams in Europe coming in for Scholes if he's such a master? Let me answer that one, he's good enough for Oldham, not us.

It is all about having options, yes, but the right ones as well. The difference between us and Man United is, we will try and play the same 11 each week if possible. Man United wont. The have a squad bigger than ours, which is why they don't have too.

We wouldn't even drop anyone before the FA Cup final. The only way Scholes would get in our team is if someone was injured.

Rodwell be better than him next season. I'd rather play him to be perfectly honest.

ok azzbot, you feel very strongly about this. i noticed it's your birthday today. go out, leave the internet alone and enjoy being 17.

Just admit your talking [Poor language removed].

It's not my birthday till tomorrow either, smart arse.

With Fellaini and Scholes in our midfield it would certainly increase the yellow card count as neither can tackle and pace will be sadly lacking. As I have said before I reckon it will be a step backwards.
I can't imagine him being satisfied to warm our bench for the season either. No- goer in my book(n)(n)

Managed to put this in the correct thread this time...Doh(y)(y)

We wouldn't, unless Scholes' starts wearing lead boots and he needs glasses. Was his eye that badly damaged?

With the Uefa cup, the FA cup, the League cup and the Premier League we will use our squad. If Moyes has the options he will do that, I'm sure of it. He didn't before the FA cup final because we barely had any options outside of Rodwell, Gosling and Jo.

Ask yourself. Is Scholes the ONLY player we can get for back up in our midfield?

Who knows?

Anyone available in the Jupiler League? I know you have a vast knowledge of that League. Maybe the Portuguese Liga?

Well I was asking you, sort of defeats the object of my question.

If you don't know anyone else, that's fine.

I don't know anyone else, who we could get for cheap (supposedly) and would add as much quality to our squad. I've got to be honest here, a creative midfielder who could provide competition and compete with Mikel Arteta.

Do you have any options? I'll give you my opinion on them.

He'd surely cost around 10-15 million.

Why sign a player for that much and have him as backup for our current midfield?

And anyway, that's basically what I'm saying. Paul Scholes on the cheap and spend the rest our budget on a quality right/left midfielder.
