Anyone mentioned the last bit of Band of Brothers. Puts a shiver up me just typing that.
The bit at the very end when you finally get to see the real men behind the stories you've been watching is very moving, especially when most of them are clearly getting emotional themselves. Added further poignancy all these years later as they are no longer with us. I admire (to an extent) anyone who has fought in the name of their country, but that generation had the purest of motives and Band Of Brothers captures the whole experience.

Just watched "pride" a tremendous fillum that melded the troubles experienced at the hands of mainstream media, the establishment and the police, by the emerging gay & lesbian movement and the miners. It's an unlikely combination, but a true story. The anti thatcher sentiment was roused in me, with horrible memories of the 80s, the fifth that were the police, repressed people's. Geesh, I was holding together until a Billy Bragg soundtrack came on. There is power in a union. Great film.

Where did we (society) lose it?
