I haven't bothered watching any pre season game in 30 years of going to watch the blues, wonder why? Why on earth would anyone bother apart from a jolly ? Look kids 10 games in and you can moan all you want on here, till then enjoy the excitement of a new season and get out more ! MARTINEZ OUT!!!!!!

Me neither, we play a relegation fighting team and have two home games.

I expect 6 points, 7 would be good but 5 or less would be below par.

If last season is our benchmark then we have to achieve a minimum 6 points from the first 3 games.

Besic played more competitive minutes than anybody else over the summer yet he is currently our 'form player' .. go figure (as they say)

Just watching the game now, it actually wasn't as bad as I thought. We suffered from the same problems we've had all pre-season like slow tempo, individual mistakes, and no threat upfront BUT the subs really changed the game. 8 fresh legs vs. our tired 11 was the difference. It was like watching keep away but it was imo our best performance so far.

I thought we where better in the last 20 mins than the whole rest of preseason. We might of let in the goals in then but the players look like they actually got out of 1st gear.

That's on the basis of this pre season- we are clearly not 100% yet- RM is preparing us for a season in which if we do just ok, we will play the best part of 50 games. If we go all guns blazing now, we will be finished in march. He is trying to get the balance. No guarantee this is the right way but the strategy is clear.

Well they should be ready. It's a bloody league match, who knows what will happen in 6 months time. Players could be injured, we could be out of contention etc

Right now is the most important time to be worried about however I can believe we've taken preseason easy for that reason but I don't imagine Roberto is stupid enough to start throwing points away.

Mirallas and Lukaku where playing competitive football 4 weeks ago, I can understand them not needing anything. 4 weeks off is a minor hamstring. As long as they've kept their fitness levels then I'm sure they'll be fine. The only thing that worries me is Martinez' comments.
