2017/18 Sandro Ramirez

I know he made a couple of horrid mistakes, but I think there is real potential there.

I think he is almost trying too hard, and when things are going against you anyway then your every touch turns into a mistake.

However, he clearly has lots of pace and even after the mistakes he didn't hide, he kept trying to make things happen.

I think when the tide turns for him he can be a very good player.
I do agree that a couple of under 23 games to help him settle would not be a idea.

I loved when he tackled Cuco last night.

Cuco backed off, which he usually does when confronted by an opponent.

Sandro then coughed up posession, which he usually does when confronted by an opponent.

I chuckled in a SM manner.

He's a great second striker. Hanging out around the edge of the 18 with a target striker in the box. Can really finish. So yes, he should've been pushed up front with DCL. For certainly, playing behind him as a F9 maybe.

He can cross the ball, too, and can play a bit out wide with the threat of cross or cutting inside, but who the heck can play out there with Martina? It's painfully obvious we are asking the backs to provide the width in attack, and Cuco won't go forward even when there is space. It's brutal. Back stays wide, attacker cuts inside. This isn't that complicated.

Think we'll see JonJoe and Baines Sunday and it'll be an improvement for sure. Those guys can play wide, allow for our left and right attackers to play as the inside forwards Koeman wants them to be. Siggy on the inside and we should be good.

But it still all starts with a single striker up front. DCL isn't getting it done.

TBF to Sandro I think he was getting pissed at the way Cuco would freeze like a deer caught in headlights. He slowed down play way too much.
Sure we was. You can see he wants to play fast. Klaassen the same way.

At this point, if Garbutt was decent the other night, is it time? Not much need for Cuco when Coleman comes back IMO.

I think it would be difficult for any inside forward like Sandro, Lookman or any midfielder in general if every other week you have a different outside back that may or may not go forward. Cuco just killed us last night. He offers nothing from the left side in attack as he's purely right footed and we all know his defending in space is awful.

Is he dead?

He wouldn't have suited us today but he'd had been perfect for Arsenal with their fast 2 touch passing, fast runs and ripping us to shreds.

This one is going disastrously wrong, the lads confidence must be completely shot when Niasse is getting on in front of him, what a shame.
