...Dowell mainly played wide right coming through the youth ranks and forged a great partnership with Kenny. That was also apparent at international level, including Young England World Cup win. Indeed, before Walcott arrived last season I had him ahead of Lennon as our best RW option.

Dowell has pribably played at least 60/70% of his total games on the right mate. I think he's better in the middle as he's more involved but he gets put on the left nearly all the time. Lookman not so much but he has and can play there.

I'd rather him go somewhere other than Real Sociedad so he can play consistently as a CF. He isn't going to displace Willian Jose as their starting CF and I don't think a season of coming off the bench would be of benefit either. Obviously he's versatile and could rotate with Juamni as a RW but he needs nurturing as a CF in my opinion.
