Sandhills station

I was in London last yearmust have been start of season or a pre season game or summat and Spuds were on a boat going up the river to, I assume, Fulham, it sounded like they were having a top fun time with the singing they were doing. I'd happily park on the wirral and take boat over to BMD
Maybe time to salvage the Royal Iris from the Thames? That would be class👌

Sadly that's what safe seats produce, it's why while I hate Tories, because they're just people who get involved in politics because they're upper class. Safe seats in places like Glasgow and Liverpool and Glasgow produce inept MPS, who get involved in politics just to protect their own interests no different from Tories.

It is, but Manchester is more safe Labour than Liverpool. Key is having people who can actually do their job.

15 mins to Sandhills v 25 mins to Moorfields.
Waiting time in queue at Sandhills probably longer but wouldn't surprise me to see loads head to Moorfields instead of Sandhills.
At least you have a chance of a seat at Moorfields although the shoppers at Central will have nabbed most but at least you're on the train.
Have a pint or two before jumping a train. Wait for the queues to go down.

I highlighted a response I received from mereey travel almost three years ago. The planned refurbishment has nit happened!

Part of a reply from Merseyrail in answer to my complaint about ovecrowding & delays at Sandhills. No mention of insufficient number of trains and carriages. They seem quite happy with how things went.
<<<< The purpose of test events, like the one held in February, is to identify improvements and adjustments that can be made to ensure matchdays and large events progress smoothly and safely, particularly in terms of crowd management and managing the flow of passengers onto platforms. These test events will be subject to a comprehensive review with all organisations and partners involved, with feedback provided to LCRCA.
I’d like to reassure you that the queuing system at Sandhills station is based on the tried-and-tested arrangements used for major events such as the Grand National at Aintree. The number of people allowed onto platforms from the queuing area is carefully controlled and in line with risk assessments carried out for the safety of our customers. >>>>

I do hope they are aware the Grand National is in better weather and in a location that isn’t as exposed to the elements?

That fact they think that there risk assessment is suitable shows how bad they are.

Well exactly. It's a very complacent reply , almost patronising . I think their approach was let's do nothing and see how it goes.

Cheers for this. I found...

If the Council were really serious about improving transport links then they'd be building an extra station here next to Sherwood Street or Love Lane, it'd serve BMD on match days but also the Titanic Hotel, Tobacco Warehouse redevelopment and the rest of the Liverpool Waters Scheme area. They've just built apartments on the land you have circled mate. I think previously McBurneys used to own it to store their lorries.

You're right, but without increased services you've still got the same fundamental problem as Sandhills

Re-introcuce 'specials' (trains just for football fans) on match days, which they had in the 1970s. There were hundreds (maybe a thousand or more?) on each train. They could depart and return from/to nominated busiest or most popular outlying stations (no more than 2 trains to each station) at staggered times with arrival at/departure from Sandhills also staggered. Sandhills is then not congested when they arrive and there's no need to go to Sandhills until your train is due to leave.

Vote Cake For Mayor!

If Murder Inc were in a stadium at that dock there'd be no transportation issues.

We all instinctively know this.

Never mind an 'evolving' system over time. There'd be another station in Vauxhall now open and there'd be a light transportation system bringing supporters all but to the stadium entrance.
