Sandhills station

….can’t believe planning permission for people flow improvements were only applied for in late 2024 when the issues were obvious years ago. Rotherham is too comfy in his role, he needs a good wake-up call at the next mayoral election.
He's probably in the safest seat in the country mate. Things won't change until people start voting differently at the ballot box. The council do nothing to improve this city, knowing that people will still vote Labour regardless. It's a mafia style set up in this city. "Vote for us, we will protect you from the tories" is the mandate they have run on since 2010, meanwhile offering nothing to improve the lives of the residents, except for a substantial cut in services and a council tax hike - Don't forget to keep voting Labour though!

If it's even feasible to build a new station there on the viaduct, you're talking tens of millions of pounds (I reckon £50m).
I'd imagine that it is feasible, plenty of stations elsewhere are on raised ground, cost will certainly be an issue but competent councils/Mayors can lobby the national govt for funding, as Burnham does in Manchester for his transport network improvements.

It's not the party it's the people elected that are the problem. Weak 💩 houses. Manchester is Labour they get things done. They have strong leadership.

Kopite blaming the club now. The useless wastrel.

So he's blaming the club having a change of ownership that the stadium might not have been completed? It was always going to be completed, LOR knew that so why didn't the mayor???

Backtracking saying it's not a fan zone it's a fan management zone, it was a test event (let's hope no one gets hurt with what we have now?) and they have till the new season to get it sorted - I highly doubt they will get something sorted before then.

I also don't think a bridge will help anything at all. The platform is too small and not enough trains.

Mentions aintree, which is a once a year event where people don't leave as soon as it's finished and they have express trains for it!

He seriously needs to resign, he's not fit for any sort of role like this.

Looks like a Meccano set. We'll have to climb 3 flights of stairs ,cross a bridge and go down another flight ( or vice versa ) to access the platform. :dodgy:

It's his typical playbook, always someone elses fault.

Blamed Stadler for the trains not being fit for purpose. Yet months before they came into action he was bragging about how this train technology has never been used anywhere in the world before and we are the first to use it. I guess he quickly discovered why nobody else in the world uses battery-powered trains, when they continue to break down every day.
