Prentice on it now too.

Everton FC are ready to hand Cameroon international striker Samuel Eto'o a two year deal.

The former Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea forward is due at Finch Farm today for a medical.

If successful he will pen a deal until 2016 at Goodison adding much needed depth to the Blues striking resources.

Eto'o will become the Blue's fifth signing of the summer after Mohamed Besic, Brendan Galloway, Christian Atsu and £28m man Romelu Lukaku.

The Cameroonian scored nine Premier League goals for Chelsea last term in a one year spell at Stamford Bridge. The 33-year-old also had spells at Real Madrid, Mallorca and Anzhi and scored over 300 goals during his career.

Yeno what i reckon he will sign play a year for us then move to the MLS for like 8 mil.

It is a very rare occasion that I am a negative nelly, but I honestly do not think signing Eto'o is a good move.

I will give the lad my full support if he signs, but he failed to impress for Chelsea and I fear he will fail to impress for us.

That said, him and Lukaku will be ridiculously 'up' for playing against Mourinho on Saturday, both of them with major points to prove.

I would unleash them both and just go for it.

It can sometimes work wonders for the younger players to have someone of his stature around, gives them loads of confidence............

Its a fantastic signing.
Big name, big profile, big experience and is a threat. Knows where the goal is, a great lad and will be full of superb advice for Rom.
European experience, a winner.
Its a bloody no brainer and offers us something we dont have. He also has pace still which is excellent news.

Will be a great signing and I am delighted.

Not happy with this one. He's a mercenary, the move to Anzhi that time had nothing to do with football and I'm hoping this isn't one final pay day for him and he'll just hop in his hammock for 2 years whilst not bothering to stay fit. Really hope I'm wrong and he's a consummate professional who's interested in what Bobby's doing and is taking a massive pay cut.

would he not have gone to the middle east if he was only interested in earning millions???

Mate if he wanted a pay day he'd be off to Russia or Arabia. He's done that, made his dosh and still wanted to compete so went to Chelsea, now us. We're never a pay day club
